Hey guys,

Just curious how you guys did this past weekend in Ma. I went out wednesday night on the local pond in tied into a nice 4lbish one off a dock with a senko and one smaller pound an a halfer, but nothing else the rest of the night.

Saturday, pops and I hit Long Pond in Sturbridge and spent six hours on the water in the morning and I landed the only one a two pounder on a senko swim tail. Nothing else all day, no bits. Threw everything in the box practically. Seemed others were having the same issue. Wondered if it was us or the weekend weather and the fish.

went out yesterday on the charles and they were hitting like crazy from about 11-3 in the afternoon, caught about 8 bass, two giants, I think I had one big pike or pickerel on the line too but i'm glad it got off cause it was too large to land in my kayak.

senkos and a bluegill colored supershallow crankbait on the banks in the grass and stacked up in the shade and around downed trees

We got 7 Saturday morning in Harvard.  5 of them between 2.5 and 3.5  The other two were about 12 inches.  I tried topwater early and then some cranks & spinnerbaits and came up empty.  Fat Ika's worked again in skinny water near laydowns and docks.

My record is still in tact though - 1,643 casts with a crankbait and no fish!

goin to reup this post here.

Just went out on the charles, midday, semi slow fishing.. Was practicing my fly casting and caught a nice perch (first catch on fly rod!!!)  A bluegill on the fly rod, and two 1.5 pound bass on a senko on spinning gear.  Overall nice day.......

Water level is extremely high for this time of year because of the recent rediculous storms that came through dropping 4-5 inches of rain, it is in the same state is was in during april.  Current is running and bass are probably extremely confused, just like me...  ;)

Hit the Charles (Forest Grove)on Saturday morning - had a missed blowup on a zara puppy on my first cast then nothing the rest of the day - threw spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, buzztoads, Flukes, Rapalas, trick worms, craws, spoons and power worms.  Not even a bite.

Went out today as I had the day off - on the Watertown Brighton line, had about the same luck, caught a bluegill on a powerworm, that's about it.  I did get one hit on a cheap Hurricane swim shad, surprised that it had some nice action.  Safe to say either I didn't set the hook hard enough or it may have just bit the tail as it came loose after about a 10 second fight.  Also surprised to see a young otter on the Charles.  First time in my life and I grew up a block from the river.

I counted 3 senko's, 5 bobbers, 2 spinnerbaits, and one rapala in the trees today that weren't there a week and a half ago when I last fished there.  Either there's one character who can't cast or there's a lot of fishing pressure.

I need to get a boat, tough to get to deep water where they're hiding in the heat from shore.

Thinking of trying the Wachusett in the next two weeks.   Anyone have much luck there in the Summer?

Been debating the Kayak.  I'll most likely by going with a canoe since my wife and kids could then come along.   Won't be until next year though, after just getting back into fishing after a long time off she's just starting to come to grips with the tackle expenses.   Maybe I'll find something cheap on craigslist.

well i have been fishing the mnt watchusett areas and  the groton areas too with some good success, in fact ive been getting some good weight to boot (love the fishing this time of yr)...........when all else fails as far as bait a #3 wide gap along with a 5" senko works like crazy......heres the trick people slow it the heck down,i mean fish it slow real slow.in these summer heats bass tend to not fallow anything to far and long. just to make my point i fished a lily pad that was like 10ft by 10 ft and i fished it for 15 minute with nothing but on the last cast i got a 5 1/4 lbs lmb..............just my 2 cent folks

I fished a swamp off Kendall Rd and RT 3, (Tyngsboro) on Saturday evening in a canoe with my buddy and only caught 3 between us.  He caught two 1lb'rs and I caught a nice 2.5-3lb'r on a Rage Tail Shad, pearl color.

Thing is, I had a ton of hits, some big, but I couldn't land them because I didn't set the hook right.

I went out again on Monday morning 5am, same place, but from shore and caught three nice bass.

I even got my "good deed of the day" out of the way early and took an old rusty hook out of a bass' throat, he survived the surgery, gave me a wink and swam off.

I  have been fishing every day at work at lunch around 45 min at around 8:45am.. Get a least 1-2 fish a day.. Today got 3 one 1 1/2lber and 2 smaller 1lbers.. One on a Yellow bladed yellow skirt spinnerbait and the others on the old trusty Wave Worm Pumpkin color wackey rigged.. That wave worm has been killing it at the Work pond..

Went to the local Res. saturday late afternoon and got mostly nothing right up until sunset...then hit a 4.5 lbr on a weedless Senko that I was throwing out of desperation...made my night...but trying to get that deep hook out in low light was a bear...she hit it so lightly I thought I was weeded up....

I did unbeliveable this past weekend, I took last friday off and went to the ashland rez. and caught 9 bass in about 3 hrs .Saturday i had about an hour of free time so went to the local rez , i caught 14 bass in 40 min , thubbrsday i went back to the local rez and got 5 more bass in about 25 min . Today i went back and caught 4 more bass and lost somthing really big , after about a 10 min fight it snapped my friggin line. So needless to say i've had a really good week.

My weekend has been kinda slow, only three on Friday in 1.5hrs, but good sized.  They all slammed the Rage Tail Shad, Pearl White.

Hopefully tonight I can bring in some nice lunkers.

Hit the Charles a bit the last few days.  Only came up with 3 or 4, first ever on a jig, booyah baby jig with a twin grub trailer.  Saw something interesting though, bumped into guys who were fished regularly and they were doing quite well with a small black and white spoon, I saw three or four hookups in the 10 minutes I was talking to them.  I had hit the same area with the jig, a rapala, tubes, a senko and fluke with nothing only a half hour before.  Anyone try small spoons for largemouth?
