Zel Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Robby yeah I know the area near where Country Junction was, my nephew just bought a home there recently. You must be really familiar with Beltzville Lake It's almost in your backyard. Fish any open tournaments held there? - - - - Lakes I fish: NE PA: Beltzville, Mauch Chunk, Nockamixon, Tobyhanna, Wallenpaupak, Fairview. Harveys. NJ: Mountain Lake, Merrill Creek, Spruce Run, Round Valley, Hopatcong, Schwartzwood, Areoflex. Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Yeh I fished two open tournaments there. I fish the Big Fish tournament. It is Joe Chillari's tournaments. He is involved with team bass. I actually fished the one open that Marcia Rubin attended. I know the lake very well. I fish hard for stripers, catfish, and bass there. You fish fairview and harveys? I thought fairview was a private lake. Also did you know that Mike Iaconelli fished fairview for many years. He caught some big fish out of there (stories in his book). Also I have been meaning to get to Harveys. How is the fishing at Fairview and Harveys? Quote
Zel Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Robby, Harvey's Lake has been so-so for me for a while now. I only go there when a friend invites me when he prefishes it for a tourney, or at night when they occasionally had big name concerts there at the Bud Light Amphitheatre (no better seat in the house than in a bass boat fishing and watching/listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash; Deep Purple; or Black Sabbath). I have my best luck there fishing old abandoned docks where only remnants of structure remains, some specific docks, and slow rolling spinnerbaits in deep structure. Grade = C. Fairview is a great small lake. Very small but unlimited HP. There is a state launch, but only enough parking for about 10 cars/trailers (and turning around there to get the tralier parked is nutz), and I don't think you can launch before 6 or 7 am. I stick to dropoffs, rocks, a big old tree in deep water, lily pads, and the hump area. Really quality Smallmouth and the largemouth aren't slouches either. One great place to practice your jigging spoons and blade baits. Grade = B+. Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 It is funny you mention the Spoons and blade baits again. You either have a really good memory from when we talked on the phone or just random advice. The bud Light Amphitheatre sounds like a great time I am definitely going to look into that. Thanks! Quote

Out off all of them, MC or Mountain are my favorites. Quote

MtAiryEd Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 You guys are makin' me homesick. I grew up in South Scranton...moved to Elmhurst later. I lived in both places for 30 years prior to moving to Maryland. I had a boat up at Lake Ontario and spent a lot of time up in the Oswego, Pulaski, Fairhaven area. While at home, I fished Prompton, Wallenpaupack, the Susky, Lake Henry, and most other lakes. Quote
Big-Bass Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Some of the places I fish are: Prompton, Lake Ariel, Wallenpaupack, Lake Henry, Lackawanna State Park, Ford's Pond, Fairview Lake, Susquehanna River, etc. Where is South Scranton did you grow up? My father grew up on Hemlock Street and my uncle still lives on that street as well. Quote
