Zel Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Where is Medowgrounds, what type of lake is it, and what type of structure does it hold? Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted May 30, 2008 Author Super User Posted May 30, 2008 Its down here by me Zel, in SCPA. Small, electric only lake. Humps, drops and shoreline cover are the dominant features where most bass are caught. Many of the drops have scattered wood cover on it. Quote
Zel Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 LOL, at first I read your post as SPCA... I thought... you dog you! Can you give me a town close to it. Also, does the lake have rocks, any lily pads or weeds or grass, and if the weeds or grass are matted or sparse. If I don't fish it, want some of my secret PA plastics to try out? Thanks Quote
basser89 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Zel, The closest town is Mcconnellsburg. You can actually type in Meadow Grounds Lake in Google Maps and it will take you right to it. Not sure what the grass will be like this year since it was so low last year. There are (or at least were) a couple small patches of lilly pads at the upper end. Quote
BadKarma42 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I think there will either be a lot of grass or a lot of dead grass. There was a lot of new growth and vegitation popping up when the water was down. Quote
Zel Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks for the info guys. But 150 miles as the crow flies is a bit far for a one day tourney for me. Quote

Well Zel, with gas prices the way they are, I understand.... Besides, I dont want you to whoop me in my own backyard LOL Quote

Zel Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Guys... no whoop, just a little snoop from the troop to try and get the scoop. I have historically done well at tournaments fishing lakes I knew nothing about. It's only when I get to know the lake that I have no clue what to do. : Quote
BadKarma42 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Well in that case let me tell you all you need to know! Just having some fun with you. Quote
Mobydick Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 More water.............whooo hoooooooooooo!!!!!!! Problem is, gas is to expensive, I may be able to hit one this year though. Last year, it took so long to get the boats in the water cuz everyone, including me, got their boat hung on that stump by the boat launch, I never thought they would refill it.... ;D Quote
Gr8Fishing Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I live close by but i have never fished the lake was wondering what color & type of lures is best for that lake? so i can have a more productive fishing day at the lake. i never had a boat to get out on the lake i did mostly bank fishing at long pine dam & local water sheds in that area i know each lake has different lures that are more productive & i was wondering if you can give me a heads up sinces i have now have a boat to get out in the lake. i do wonderful from the banks & i do alot of waiting in the river few pointers on this lake would be a big help. thanks for the time & pointers have a wonderful fishing day Quote
Mobydick Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Is there a tournament tomorrow? I think there is, but I wanna make sure. Quote

No excuses on the next one!!!! 94 degrees and virtually no shade on MG? At least the wind will surely be a blowin' : LOL Quote
basser89 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Windy on MG? Never seen that before! LOL! A little chop on the water, well you know what I'd be throwing! Stay positive and you'll gettem! Have you been out there since the last tourney to probe those "new" spots you had found? Quote
Zel Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Just throw a * out there and let it sit and sit and sit. My son-in-law has been doing this lately in the really hot weather with good results (I don't have the patience). I think deadsticking it might be key. Quote
