riverfisher Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Ballston has been hitting good along with Saratoga lake but the Mohawk man I can not buy a bite there. How are the weeds lookin @ Round I havient been over there yet this year. HMMMMM maybe thats where ill go father's day. Quote
Cory20 Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 Glad to hear Ballston is going well, I haven't fished there in a while. I fished Saratoga on Friday and decided to stay and do some night fishing. Wow am I glad I did! Good numbers and size, I'm definitely going to do that again. Give it a try on the after the next HOT day if you get a chance. I fished Round Lake las Thursday and put my two friends on fish. Here's my friend's that was our best, if not his PB. I know they like to blur out the back round in CA, so if there are a swarm of boats on "my" spot next time I go I'll know better next time. ;D 20" fish, no scale though, probably 4+? The coontail is THICK and I'd like to see a thicker canopy of lily pads. I'm all about froggin and pitchin into the pads on that lake. However, that evening they were on them on the edges. I'm in town for the next couple of days if you'd like to try an evening, I have a 16' sea nymph. Cory Quote
pattertr408 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I live in Stillwater so I fish the dirty Hudson most of the time, but I've fished Saratoga about five times already this year with yesterday being the most recent. Everytime I go out they get bigger and bigger... They seem to hit the most with Senko's, Wacky style... but I've never really caught a Lunker on them... They are averaging 2+ lb's now, and I'm hoping the bigger ones start biting this weekend, I'm in tournaments Sat and Sun on Saratoga. Quote
Joe Boss Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Thats a nice bass, congratulations! Fishing has been slow for me this year, I have been out 5 times this spring and have only caught 2 smallmouth, a one pounder and a dink. been catching more Rock Bass, Perch and Sunfish than I can count. No Largemouth yet I am a relocated downstater, originally from Brooklyn now living in Queensbury. I fish mostly on lake George but sometimes I will try my luck on the Hudson River. There is a nice spot to fish from shore right under the overpass on the Northway between exits 17 and 18. Quote
Muad Dib Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 ya im giving schroon lake a shot july 7th to the 11th. hopefully the bite will be on there. not sure if they got the lilly pads going yet but im sure the bite will be good if i can find those fish. live crawfish should work well im thinking. have used any thing else for smallies. maybe a super fluke jr would work well. any color advisories Quote

I match tube colors to the color of the bottom, seems to work well most of the time. Quote

Watermelon with green and red flake is a good choice. Quote
