Is it me or do jet ski's love to ride around bass boat's when were fishing?Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if they use the same lake I fish .But for god's sake stay out in the middle, not cruising the banks at 60 MPH..............I've sent more than one cast there way, they usually get the idea..

Would you expect it to be any other way?  ;D

In my area not only do you have to deal with the Jetski's but the rowing crew's also. Every High School and College in the area now has a team or teams. I really wouldn't mind them so much if they would stay out of the river channel, you really REALLY have to keep an eye out for them.  >:)

I agree.I don't mind sharing the water with em, but do you have to do a TOP GUN style flyby at over 400 knots? Instructor in our boating safety class said jet skis are the only reason we were there taking the course. She said something like over 80% of all boating accidents freshwater or salt are jet ski related.that is why I keep a big pyramid sinker setup.

had one buzz me within 10' so i took off after him and caught him as he pulled in to his dock.  he looked abouted 15 years old so as i'm letting him have it his mom came out and wondering what the h was going on. when i got telling her the way i was exactly feeling she grabbed her son by the ear and was dragging him up to the house. i could here her saying wait till your dad gets home lol made me feel a little happier ::) think the kid thought i was going to beat him because he was shaking pretty good ;D zimmy

Zimmy be careful about going after them. There was a case I remember seeing in either BASS Master or Bass and Walleye Boats where that happened. The guy in the bass boat got a ticket not the kids on the skis. The guy chased them and got a ticket for harassing them.

I personally don't mind them if they stay away from me and I'd probably get one if I could. Don't they realize there are laws against coming that close. I know in MI you need a safety certificate to ride one unless you are over a certain age. I think most people who are on them either aren't taking the class or just are paying attention.

Usually a cast in their direction with a large crankbait will get them to back off if they see me casting at them.

I had a run in with them OUT of the water.  Was about to launch the boat, and before we could start backing the boat in, a guy with two jet ski's whipped his truck around cut us off and proceeded to back down the ramp.  Not even in the water and they are already being rude.  We yell at the guy driving the truck and he finally got out of our way, but the guys on the jet ski's we're still trying to get him to back up.  SAD.   >:)

I agree with you guys, it is just a sign of disrespect for others on the water; while at the lake this weekend I watched as two young men(teenagers) criss crossed in an area where a family was "attempting to fish. Sadly I watched as the family pulled their lines out of the water and just left the lake. I think it's pitiful when people like that (the jet skiers) make it so less of us can enjoy a day on the lake, and there really isn't anything we can do- other than chance an altercation. Kudos to all you guys who have given them jet skiers a peace of your mind. In this day and age it takes nerve to chase down someone like that or hold your ground when they invade. :)

Jet skis and water sport boaters are exactly the reason I dislike fishing the lake my father lives on. When the water is high and a no wake is enforced is when I love to fish it.

And one more thing. Is a pontoon boat with more than 40 horses necessary? Sometimes I think people are trying to prove they have the fastest lounge boat on the lake, biggest I've seen is 125 horses on one and the wake is tremendous.
