smallieking Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 thats true, i'm sure my boats ok lol. i always check it before i go out. my dad and i winterize it ourselves and my dads a mechanic and if anything goes wrong it doesnt take long to solve yea i winterize mine too but u never know when there will be a problem and i have no idea how long it will take a mechanic to fix it since im not a mechanic lol Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 lol true usually things are really small and easy to fix, but the boat mechanics wont tell you that though. my dad and I have gone through alot with that boat and it keeps on running beautifully. I have seen big engine problems happen to people, i hope that never happens to my boat though lol Quote
fishnaddiction Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 yea my dad never really had any engine problem after winter i cant wait to have my own boat Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 lol i've had a boat since i was 16. i got a job found a nice used boat in the paper and put a down payment on it. now its all paid off and i drive around my dads old blazer lol. everything worked out Quote
fishnaddiction Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 yea i did a job bad! i want a boat maybe after i graduate college idk o well Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 just shop for a used boat. there are alot of reasonable deals out there from guys that want to ge a new boat and all they need is a few grand to pay off the rest of it Quote
fishnaddiction Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 yea i have a small jon boat but yea i want a bigger one o well im find with wading creeks and rivers lol Quote
smallieking Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 yea jonboats are a pain tough to balance small and everything is clustered yea fishn i like wading rivers and creeks too just another type of fishing that is completly different from lakes and the boating world Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 i wade lakes too! thats not bad, you cant get everywhere you want unless you want to swim but you still get to more places than people stuck on the bank. Creek wading in the summer is the best though, i wade the loyalhanna creek around here and there are just so many smallies anywhere from 8 inches to 5 lbs!!!! yes i have caught one that wieghed 5 lbs, but i did the calculation since i didnt have a scale (length x girth^2)/800 Quote
smallieking Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 yea i caught a few like 14 inches in creeks nothing huge fishnaddiction who fishes creeks and rivers alot caught more than a few into the 4 and 5 pound range i only went with him once but we plan on going the first weekend of june Quote
fishnaddiction Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 lol yea i caught a few there not uncommon though people underestimate what creeks can produce well hey guys i found a video from when i was a kid with some buddies of mine fishing a small creek by my camp well check it out http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee178/jodes08/?action=view¤t=VCLP0061.flv Quote

smallieking Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 fun day boat ran great and caught 3 decent ones fishing with deep crankbaits on a deep riprap bank only had 4 bites though Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 yeah the water def. got colder this week than it was last week. it was a lil bit of a tougher bite today. I went to the same pond i went last week and the fish moved back into deeper water and alot of times they just tapped my lure. I did get a few vicious strikes though Quote
