yea im going to the sus with my neighbor  i have never fished it before but he has fished it alot and knows how to catch big smallies out of it   kinda like u and wills    im taking a buddy of mine down to hopewell to fish for smallies there on the raystown branch  just alittle downstream from cybrus beach bridge somewhere down there where ever i find some parking

Posted

yea i never fished now that far  i fished right at the bridge before but never below  there is some really nice water at the trussel right below it but there is always ppl fishing it so i never did   good luck man   do u have any fishing trips planned for april or march yet?

Posted

not yet  im probably just goin to be jumping from lake to lake that time of year   hows the water between cyprus and the bridge   i dont like the water at cyprus  too flat and too many camps  i was actually thinking about parking at the bridge and then fishing downstream

Posted

it sucks  well its pretty much just shallow ripples with a few eddies on the sides  then under the bridge is just one big ripple no holes at all just go below and hell with that water its seriously bad

Posted

really lol  well i need to find a spot  i dont want to get down there and drive around  cause then my buddy will think im an idiot lol   how far down river from the bridge is the trussel

Posted

not very far at all  there is some ripples right at the bridge then maybe a hole then another set of ripples then there is the hole by the trussel  u can see the trussel from the bridge?   what part of the river do u normally fish?

Posted

o ok well im goin to park right there at the bridge then    i fish all over  mostly around tatesville bridge  just upstream from those ledges u like to fish

Posted

yea i know where tatesville bridge is  jezz   hey i told smallmouthbegginer or something like that about some info u gave me about feeder creeks on larger rivers  when we fished together on wills that one time   ive been talking to him on AIM  so   yea im not sure if u remember giving me the info but i gave it to him since he needs to target some type of structure or area that will produce on a larger river

Posted

lol  yea i wasnt sure what he was asking me about   i didnt even realize that he was talking about u  im not even sure i gave him the information that he was looking for lol    i gave him a bunch of info on fishing feeder creek eddies on rivers    lol  o well  at least he has abunch of info on something   right??    well im thinking about where to go on the river at   i would go to the trussel if it was just me  but im not sure if there is any other holes around it to fish after we fish the trussell  got any ideas?

Posted

yea i told him about fishing incoming current and i just wanted him to get it varied by u since u are the expert on fishing current for smallies lol  aa yea im not sure  i like tatesville bridge and the first parking lot on browser hill road    the ledges and the spawning flat below it  its your call u fish that river more than i do  i just fish constant spots lol

Posted

lol yea  i know  i just lke covering as much water as possible    ill probably fish the water right at the junita trading post  im not sure its not for a few months    o yea i was talkin to people at work about stoneycreek   i thought stoneycreek was a dirty sulfur AMD creek.  i might be wrong  but it is the creek that dumps into the conomaugh in johnstown right?  is it fishable?  he said that there are alot of bass that has to moved into the creek   idk i was thinking he was throwing out a bunch of bull but i dont know

Posted

yea in johnstown the creek is pretty bad  i actually fish it up by the dam  in hossople  the creek is good there  there are two Acid Mine Drainage creeks that dump into downstream from that  so i stay above the first being shade creek in seanor   so anywhere from seanor to the dam is all good fishing   there is even some largemouth and really nice trout in it     its actually just about 15 minutes from my house

Posted

hmm im not sure about all those town names and creeks  but i was wondering if that is the creek on the left side of the road after u get off 219 and u have to make that right to go to the dam   is that stoneycreek there on the left?  with the black old train bridge crossing it?   i seen people fishing it but never thought anything of it    hmm maybe i will have to go on a scouting trip some time

Posted

yup excalty  i fish that hole before   actually once last year but only caught a few bass mostly trout  yea well from that bridge the whole way down to a town called seanor is ok creek bass fishing   its nothing like wills but is something to do during the week or whatever when u just want to go fish   how far is it from u to go to the queen?

Posted

o ok  cool  it takes me about 15 minutes to johnstown then another 15 minutes to mcnaley bridge then about 10 minutes from there to the lake   so about 40 minutes   if u ever want to go  i can get off in richland and take scalp down to windber and pick u up  it only takes about 5 or 10 more minutes  no problem   plus u can show me  where do u on that creek

Posted

k cool im actually supposed to go to that creek sometime soon to fish for trout a private stocking company stocks it over the winter if u want to can come with me just to see what the creek is like

also i was wondering what baits u use for fishing root systems   i was just looking at some old pics and remembering fishing roots alot  i know a wide wobble crank worked for me once but i was wondering if bass there will target grubs and insects more than craws and minnows   k later
