ABC123 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I've got some pretty good deals on all my big ticket items, but the best one still remains the now $230 MSRP Loomis IMX casting rod for $87. 8-) Although, the now $285 MSRP MBR785 rod I got for $150 was a pretty good deal. Then again, the now $230 MSRP IMX SJR721 rod I got for $120 is nothing to be ashamed of either. Well, come to think of it, the now $365 BSR803 GLX rod I got for $222 was a decent deal too. Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 Quote About a dozen Zoom WEC Cranks for $5 each at the BPS OutletH&T Balsas for $5 each, also at the outlet. Also, sort of a good little deal........I like to take my crankbait boxes out of the boat every time I'm done fishing (so they aren't exposed to extreme temps). So instead of trying to carry them all in and out of the boat all the time, I bought this bag from BPS to hold them. It's actually a 48-can insulated soft cooler ;D - - but I found that it perfectly holds five Plano 3700's (six if you want to lay one horizontally on top) and even some utility boxes along the side. Pretty nifty tackle bag for only $13.00. I've even left it out in on the boat deck during some pretty good rains and it managed to keep everything inside perfectly dry (well....it is a cooler....) NICE BAG PARTNER! I may try that idea. Thanks for sharing that. Quote
TxBuddha Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I just bought an Avid AVS69MLXF at BassPro for $119. It's one of the new ones too! The only thing I can figure is that it must have come in while the older ones were on mark down and got marked down as well. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 I am glad to see people finding great deals. Shimano compre new from Sportsman's: $55, normally $89. Shimano Crucial from a local shop: $59, normally $129. Rapala DT 6s from Target @ $1.49 each. I just about bought the whole darn lot. Always a good deal that is normally priced and not a sale, a local shop sells 300 yds of the Real Power pro for $19.95 and 200 yds of SeaGuar Invizx for $12.97 Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 I was lucky enough to get in on the Cabelas Revo SC deal last year. I got two of them for 79.99 then add on the $10 rebate for each and that was one of the best deals of the year. Every once and a while I find a item on BPS online that is priced wrong. A couple of years ago I found the Clear one of these listed for .99. They were supposed to be listed for $9.95. I picked up 12 of them and they have been one of my best produceing cranks. Oh and then there's my boat. It is a 2004 Aluminum Triton 186 Sport. The guy I bought it from got a guy who bought it brand new and parked it. He and his son only used it five or six times total. I picked it up for 10,200 and the 90hp Merc only had 8 hours on it. Quote
Big-Bass Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 The best deals that I have gotten are: St. Croix Legend Elite from Reed's (wasn't supposed to be on sale but was) originally $310 bought for $198. Another Legend Elite (green blank) on closeout for $150 from $300! Shimano Calais 100A: excellent condition. Originally $389.99 bought for $150 even. Shimano Calcutta TE-100GT: NEW for $199.99 discounted from $329.99. Falcon Expert Rod: Originally $169.99 bought for $99.99. Lastly the best deal of all: Shimano Calais CL-200: ordered over the phone from an out of state Gander Mountain store...they took my address but the girl forgot to get my credit card...the reel showed up FOR FREE a few days later. I didn't have the heart to keep it so I called back up and they gave it to me for HALF of retail price! See, it pays to be honest sometimes...now go ahead and tell me I'm nuts but hey I believe in good karma! Quote
dumb_dog11 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 BPS Crankin' Stick in the clearance section online. 26.50. A week later they raised the price to about 35. It retails normally for fifty, so, as a cranker, i'll def take the deal. Quote

A store, sent me the GLX instead of the Mossyback. Instead of paying for all the shipping charges to exchange it, I got it for $50 more than the discounted Mossyback price. I have no idea if they would have even caught it if I had not called them. I wanted to make it right though. There just may be something to that Karma thingy. Since that order, I have gotten some great deals at that same store and other stores too. Quote

PDB Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I'm a serious bargain hound. I have been scoring some good deals lately. Just yesterday I picked up 4 Quantum Accurist reels on clearance for $44, regularly $94. I also bought two American Rodsmith titanium series rods on clearance for $29. I remember when they first hit Academy they were over 100 bucks. A couple months ago a regional sporting goods distributor's warehouse burned. The salvage company that bought the stock started selling it at 40% off. I bought tons of offshore tackle. When they went down to 60% off I picked up several Daiwa Tierras for $45. After they went down to 80% off I was still scoring deals on Senkos, Norman hard baits, Terminator spinner baits, P-line CX Premium, and more. Last week I picked up this brand new ProCraft 165 pro with a 90 HP Merc and trailer. It came with a MG trolling motor, a cheap Lowrance fishfinder, a 3 year warranty on the motor and a $300 gift certificate to Bass Pro Shops for just $9999. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 30, 2008 Super User Posted January 30, 2008 I've scored so many deals on Ebay that I cant remember them all. Best was probably a Steez 7'1" rod, brand new, for $315 shipped. That rod retails for $500. Quote
Bassnajr Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 Don't know how much of a deal this is but here goes... 4- 600 yard rolls of Yo-Zuri Hybrid Fluorocarbon/Nylon Hybrid (.011 diameter) 3 green one smoke color. $3.00 each total $12.00. and an Abu Conolon Premier MH casting rod 6'6" for $21.00. Wadda ya think???? ajr Quote

Fishing Doug Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 This isn't my best deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning since some of you guys could take advantage of it. Just got back from my local Wal-Mart. Picked up Mann's Baby 1-Minus crankbaits for $.99 each. Some were marked at $.99, $1.50, $2, and $3 so I asked the guy behind the sporting goods counter about them. He said that if he rings them up there that they will all be $.99 each. Not sure if I really need 31 shallow cranks... ;D ;D ;D ;D FD Quote
ILfisherman Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Best deal so far was buying a Curado 200dhsv for 159.99 online shipped to the door minus the $50 rebate = $109.99 Then I got the BPS crankin' stick for $26.50. More to come at the BPS Spring Classic I'm sure!!! Quote

bmadd Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Got a new Revo STX from factory shipped to my door for under $130 Quote
Super User David P Posted February 1, 2008 Super User Posted February 1, 2008 Quote Here's another one from BPS. The box alone is worth the price!!!!http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=51596&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults So everyone knows, that doesn't come in a box. Comes in a plastic stapled thing, nothing like a box. The worms are terrible, BUT the weights are fine. Quote
