Here's my deal of the day..An Abu Garcia boat bag at Dick's no tag on it...the manager sold it to me for $9.00!!!! Deal or no deal!!!! Check out the photo!! That's the bag Abu was giving away as part of a promotion. And I'm not sure just what kind of bag it is. it isn't a boat bag or a tackle bag. more like and overnight bag, or a little duffle. My best deal: Walmart in fall. Beetle spins for $1.50 per lure. I picked up a whole strip of them - about ten lures per strip. They ended up selling the whole strip for $1.50. I bought about 20 more strips. I have enough beetle spins to last a life time. Quote

BaitMS Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Last year at Walmart, when they were clearing everything out, I picked up an Abu Garcia Record Baitcaster ($149.95 @ BPS) for $50. At the time, Pure Fishing had the $10 rebate and I got that too. A $150 reel for $40!! Before Christmas I purchased a Quantum Energy 760 PT from The Sports Authority for $115. I've mailed in the $50 rebate quantum is offering right now. Hopefully I will be receiving the check in the mail soon. A $190 reel for $65!! Quote

F@bio Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 -Strike King heavy duty jigs were 99 cents at BPS this past weekend. I also remember once buying tungsten weights as well as stren super knot at wal mart for like 75-90% of the normal price. -Right now is also the perfect time to buy last year's gear such as rods that go for like 50% off the original value. The_Natural Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Just for fun...best deals of all time for me are: $1.38 on ALL bandits at Academy (About 2.5 years ago; misprint in the Ad...they honored it)...I purchased probably 150 or so. Pline CXX Clear 1/4lb spools for $1.44 a spool at Academy. All line sizes...they clearanced out the clear, and had the 1/4lb spools for $2.88. All clearance items that weekend were 1/2 off. Again, I cleaned them out of 30+ spools. I have several other deals that come to mind on reels and baits, but I sold them to members and that wouldn't be Kosher. Tru-Tungsten Jigs @ Cabelas for .96 cents (I think...under a buck). Black and purple only...bought a bunch. Quote

Stringjam Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 About a dozen Zoom WEC Cranks for $5 each at the BPS Outlet H&T Balsas for $5 each, also at the outlet. Also, sort of a good little deal........I like to take my crankbait boxes out of the boat every time I'm done fishing (so they aren't exposed to extreme temps). So instead of trying to carry them all in and out of the boat all the time, I bought this bag from BPS to hold them. It's actually a 48-can insulated soft cooler ;D - - but I found that it perfectly holds five Plano 3700's (six if you want to lay one horizontally on top) and even some utility boxes along the side. Pretty nifty tackle bag for only $13.00. I've even left it out in on the boat deck during some pretty good rains and it managed to keep everything inside perfectly dry (well....it is a cooler....)
