BassFishingMachine Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Hey, bought a Lucky Craft Splash Tail awhile back (8months maybe?) Anyway, about the 6th cast one of the eyes came off. After that I put the bait in the bottom of my spinnerbait box, and never touched it again, so basiclly its collecting dust. If I could get the lure a new eye I'd fish it again. Will Lucky Craft replace the eye for me? I don't have a receipt, and I didn't but it any cabelas or Bass pro, so I can't go into their store and get it exchanged like I hear you can (I bought it at some small tackle shop). I tryed emailing Lucky Craft at Luckycraft@support or w/e the email address was. I haven't had a response from them and its been a week. What is your opinion on this? Is there anyway to get the eye replaced, do you know of a different email address or way to contact LC? What would you do in my shoes? Quote

BassFishingMachine Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 That missing eye is going to really throw off my confidence though.. I'm a perfectionist >. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 That missing eye is going to really throw off my confidence though.. I'm a perfectionist >. You're kidding right? Just remove the other eye and you'll have a blind baitfish, easy prey for a big bass. ;D A missing eye is not going to affect the lures performance. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 I would probably color the eye back on with a permanent marker. It will be alright, just fish it. 8-) Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 If you haven't caught a fish on it in 8 months then throw it away. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 If you could only see some of my best producing baits. Many of them are almost paintless. The clear Super Spook that I use the most is so scratched up it is no longer clear. I don't know why topwater baits need eyes anyway. The eyes are mostly on top and the bass is looking at it from underneith. :-/ Quote
Crankhead Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 One of my Lucky Craft Rick Clunn 2.5's is missing an eye. It's my top producer. Throw the lure & give it a try. Quote
MaxDal Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Just fish it ... anyway the commotion created by the prop won't allow the fish to clearly see the details on the lure. If you really can't fish a lure that misses an eye, just glue another one (spare one , or take one from a broken or bad lure). Give the splash tail a try on overcast windy (slow wind) days on points. Love it in slightly stained water. Quote

JT Bagwell Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I had a Lucky Craft CB200 that was beat to death and it was my best crank ever. It was missing an eye and have of it's paint and it still worked great. JT Bagwell Quote
powerman970 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 It is definitely not good to be in the same vicinity with that lure in the condition it is in. You should immediately package it in a secure manner and ship it here where I can dispose of it in the proper manner. : Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 1.) fish it, dont worry about it (the fish sure wont) 2.) rip the other eye off and call it even 3.) go to the fly shop/craft store and pick up a sheet of holographic stick on eyes and stick one of those on and then put a little bit of 5min epoxy over boty eyes so they wont fall off. if your worried the new eye wont match the existing one then rip both off and replace both with the new eyes. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_63311_175004004_175000000_175004000_175-4-4 Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 2, 2008 Super User Posted March 2, 2008 You could just buy a replacement eye from Jann's etc? Allen Quote

tipptruck1 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I had a eye pop of a pointer within the first few cast. I was going to bring it back intill I started catching fish on it. Quote
