The wife and I went to Cabela's today and picked up a few extra things for the Guntersville trip. I went there with the intention of holding a few rods before buying them and picking up a few spools of line. We all know how that goes....here is the aftermath. :-[

Man, I can't get my hands on those Fat Rapala's anywhere here in town and I looked high and low at the Classic Expo and didn't even see one single Rapala bait in the whole joint and we went all 3 days.

What's up with that?

Come out to Green Top in Richmond. I was there today. Tons of them. Even though it's a retail store, they will ship, too.

Did you forget to get my xr50's???? ;)

I honest to God looked for them.  I was going to buy a couple for myself too.  The only color they had was like a ghost minnow. I ended up substituting the red Rat-L-Traps instead.  That place was packed today and people were buying stuff like crazy.

Have you fished the peanuts before?  The rapala flat 7's are a killer.  I just picked up some of that berkley flouro too, hopefully I'll get a chance to throw it tomorrow.   ;)

I wanted to get a bunch of those Peanuts last year at Dick's and they took them out of stock before I could buy any in the fall. I think I'm going to replace the hooks on them as they are a little too small for my taste. I caught a lot of fish last year on those flat 7's. I'm real anxious to throw those Fat 3's. I have been looking for those things all winter and couldn't find them. Dick's Sporting Goods in Morgantown, WV had a whole section of nothing but Fat 3's.  The bad news is they were $8.00 a pop. ;)

what rod is that? Looks like a lami XMG50 but its not? :-?

This is what it is..http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20372_TGP&id=0053453122697a&navCount=1&podId=0053453&parentId=cat20372&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20372&hasJS=true

I couldn't believe how light it was when I picked it up.  It doesn't even feel real.  The wife ended up picking out the 6' Med. verson to go along with "her" Alphas.  :;)   Not a bad deal for $100.00,  25 year guarantee no questions asked over the counter replacement.

I was wondering about the peanut jimz, because the one I have the stock hooks were catching together.
