tritz18 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Hey guys I wanted to get the opinions of the northeastern guys. Saturday I will be fishing in the late afternoon and early evening. What has been working for you guys? Weather in my area has been in the high 60s Quote
BassinBoy Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 The best I can give you is work lizards in prespawn areas. Its been working for me. Just crawl and hop them on the bottom. Good luck Quote
thetr20one Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Water temps in the high 50's here. Catchin a few with a rattletrap ripped through the weeds. Quote
macmaster761 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 if your fishing running water mepps, rooster tails, spinners, have been working for me, work em relatively slow Quote
Bassnbrett101 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I've been doing good on zoom finesse worms, both on a shakey head a wacky rigged worm. how did u end up doing? Quote
tritz18 Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 I used wacky rigged worms alot, got a lot of hits but no fish. I tried everything. My friend caught 3 fish all under 2 pounds, all on wacky rigged worms. The water needs to warm up, then the big bass will be out. Quote
SenkoBasser Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Jig gravel and rock areas for pre-spawn/spawning females. Stay shallow to cover with soft plastics for the males. Been working for me anyways. Quote
xjma99 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 texas rigged black powerbait worms did the trick for me yesterday. fiancee caught a smaller largemouth on a husky jerk. the big ones liked the worms. Quote
tubesock Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 i'm sold on the square billed shallow cranks. Bomber deep flat A worked real slow for the deeper water. Quote
jmh285 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 The weather here as been in the 60's also and i've been successful using suspending crank baits or a jig-n-pig. However, i primarily fish a clear water reservoir. Good luck! Jan Quote
WTRDOG Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 If your fishing from a boat, Throw a 3/8 - 1/2 0z spinnerbait w' #5 gold colorado blade, experiment w' colors of skirts.I make all my own spinnerbaits and the colors I throw are all natural colors that you can't buy at bass pro.Throw it tight right against the bank, and burn it for about 2 feet and kill it,then experiment with retreives ,see what they like that day.Always burn it for the first couple of feet.If your fishing from the bank ,you can't go wrong throwing a weightless, senko, worm ,creature bait..etc.good luck.....
