Any recommendations? 1992 Tracker Pro 17. The qoute's I got from Progressive were; full coverage $327.00 per year with a $500.00 deductable and a $300,000 umbrella. Not sure I need that much on a boat this old, though @ $297.00 for basic liability w/$250 deductable and $100,000 umbrella I thought it might be worth going w/the $300,000 coverage for the few dollars more. Picked up a Fitts Insurance flyer @ BP yesturday and figured I get a qoute next week.

Thanks in advance for your help! ;)

Most tournaments I have fished only require a $100,000 liability coverage.  I don't think we pay more than 150.00 a year, on our 1996 18' Stratos with a 175hp on back.  We are through Erie insurance here in PA. Hope that may have helped a little?

As far as deductible, we have a $100.00 deductible for accidents and repair.  Good thing, because this year as I put her away, they found some problems, and they came to 1700.00---ouch, for a single income family, and a not so happy wife.  I only turned in the claim on my boats guys suggestion, otherwise, I would not have even though of doing so.  Bottom line is we only paid out 100.00.   Was very sweet.

Problem was line got wrapped around back of prop, and caused a seal to melt, which caused some problems.  I don't mean repair that is normal, but accidental, type stuff.

Sorry about the 3 posts, but came to me after I posted each one.  Good Luck.

In the past two years most tournaments have gone to 300.000 liability

coverage.

If your Tracker is 40 HP or under it can usually can just go under your homeowners. :-/

$300,000- Wow!

I better be sure to read the fine print...

Fishers of Men is still $100,000 as I last read this years rules and regs.

Thanks for the info.

I'm in the insurance business so take this with a grain of salt.....but....if you run into some crazy teenager on a jet ski and they get hurt real bad 300,000 may not be very much if a lawyer gets ahold of the case.....I would recommend you see how much 1,000,000 would cost or better yet get a 1,000,000 umbrella policy to cover excess over your home, auto and boat. That should be about $150 give or take a little.

Wow guys, alot of great advice and thanks so much for your input! I thought  $300 was a bit high  :-? I'll have to do some more research.

Thanks again!

You may also want to make sure you tell your insurance company that you fish tournaments, and that you may have a co-angler along that is not a family member.

I hear State Farm will not insure if you fish tournaments.

Try Anglers Advantage Insurance, you'll be suprised on their prices, they can beat Progressive.
