nefish Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 nefish;I'll have to check that out,My friends place is in Brownfield,we drive through Kezer Falls on the way.Do you live up that way?Still a ton of snow on the ground? We're going up sometime soon to do some work around his camp, just waiting on the snow to melt. I grew up summers on kezar lake ( not really near kezar falls) I lived in brown(town)field for a winter and worked at attitash ski mountain. My sister has a summer place in Bridgton and my parents have a place in Naples. I have a bunch of friends up there one of them has a house in brownfield. Does the pond you fished have a railroad bridge crossing the edge of one side? Lots of little ponds in Brownfield. My buddy lives down the street from a pretty cool little pond has an Island in the dead center that people do "hot laps" around when they water ski. Your friend will know where Kezar lake is just go toward freberg on route 5 take the right on route 302 and stay left past the Fairgrounds...easy as that. Bout twenty five minutes from brownfield (heck it takes 40 minutes up there to make a beer run). Pm me and I will tell you the ways of Kezar it really is an amazing 9 mile lake. Quote

SenkoBasser Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I'm telling yas.............. Merrymeeting Lake. Smallmouth central. Crystal clear water. Lake Trout, Salmon, Smallmouth, brook and rainbow trout. God I love that lake. Quote
mackkie Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 Is there a campground or anywhere to stay on merrymeeting? Instead of staying at winni and driving down? NEfish, is there anywhere to stay on Kezar anymore, I know the campground has been closed? Quote
SenkoBasser Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Is there a campground or anywhere to stay on merrymeeting? Instead of staying at winni and driving down?NEfish, is there anywhere to stay on Kezar anymore, I know the campground has been closed? There are none that I know of but there is one on the Merrymeeting River in Alton called Merrymeeting River Campground. Looks like a nice place. And its not far from the lake. However, I have pulled some HUGE largemouth from that river as well as rainbow trout. If you go the right time you can catch salmon from Winni heading to the river to spawn. If you do go to the lake or river, PM me and I'll give you pointers for both. Especially the river. It can be tricky. Quote
bassmedic46 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Friend of mine stayed at the Merrymeetin campground and said it was great. Got a lot of fish. Tight Lines Quote
mackkie Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 Can you access the lake from the river by boat? Quote
SenkoBasser Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Can you access the lake from the river by boat? Unforunately, no. But there is a public access ramp and free parking if you get there at the right time. Quote
