If so, where in PA and where do you like to fish? Myself, I like to fish the river of course, I can also be found fishin the canal almost any day of the week. I try to fish every day, and have been doing a d**n good job of it this season. Look forward to hearing from you guys. ~Brad Quote

Guest the_mud_man Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Hey I live in west hazleton.I have a few reclaimed mine holes off 924 by Shepton, a couple of drainge ponds behind local indrustial parks and a few farm ponds They all have Large mouth bass, bluegills and pickrel. I used to fish Mauch Chunk but I was off the middle of the week and now Im off weekends and Mauch Chunk gets pounded on weekends so Im keepin my boat at Tuscarora. Also I fish the Leigh And Susquahana river Quote
JF1 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I'm from the western side of the state, near pittsburgh. I fish mostly old abaondon strip mines out of a little 12' jon boat. But recently bought a skeeter bass boat to try my luck on some bigger water and fish some local tourneys. Anyone else from the west side of pa??? Quote
John in NW PA Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I live in NW PA and am lucky to have a lot of water to fish. Presque Isle Bay and lakes that include Pymatuning, Conneaut, Tamarack, Wilhelm, Arthur and Woodcock. We also have a number of tout streams and French Creek that has about anything you would want to catch. A longer drive will take you to Chataqua Lake in NY, or even the rivers in Pittsburgh. Lots of good bass fishing - we are fortunate! Quote
JF1 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I live in NW PA and am lucky to have a lot of water to fish. I think I may be making a trip to Tamarack to try for some muskie. I'm pretty much a bass only fisherman, but I'd like to try Tamarck for some muskie. Any suggestions on where to go??? Quote
John in NW PA Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I'm not much of a musky fisherman, but plenty of people fish for them on Tamarack. Most of the time they seem to be throwing big jerk baits for them, usually at the ends of the lake where there is deeper water. There are many musky in the lake. The lake was drained about five years ago for dam repairs, and has come back nicely. No gasoline engines are allowed on the lake, so put a good charge on the trolling motor battery. Quote
jake Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I'm live about an hour NW of Harrisburg. I haven't been on-line for a while. Been fishin. ;D I fish the Juniata and Suquehanna. And just about anything within 2 hrs. Had an AWSOME day on the Junaita today. Going to the Suskie tomorrow, putting in at Foulmouth. Quote
burgman Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Glad to see there are other PA fishing buddies! I'm from the "burgh" and fish Yough lake, Loyalhanna, Croocked Creek, Lake Arthur, Rivers and more. Moved here from the eastern part of state 1 1/2 years ago. Found better quality size back east (?) Can't figure out the spawn in western part. Better to have the line in the water than at the office!!! ;D Quote
Pa Angler Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I FISH WALLENPAUPACK MOST OF THE TIME, LAKE IS A SMALLMOUTH FACTORY, GOOD WALLEYES, CATFISH, LARGEMOUTHS AND OF COARSE STRIPERS AND HYBRID STRIPERS. STRIPERS, WALLEYES AND CATFISH ARE MORE ACTIVE AT NIGHT. Quote
Tom Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I am from around Pittsburgh- North Huntingdon. I've fished Moraine a lot, and like it there. Another few good places are Loyalhanna Dam for pike, the three rivers for about anything, and Cranberry Glade. Also, I !HIGHLY! recmomend fishing Geneiva (sp?). That place is pure amazing. We catch anywhere from 1000-2000 crappie a day PER PERSON! Also, on the way into Geneiva, there is a bridge with a small waterfall. On the top, throw cutbait upstream for bowfin. Weve caught 10 pound bowfin in that area consistantly. There are also loads of bass-big bass. We've used aluminum boats with a trolling motor, or took the canoe. You don't even need a fishfinder. Launch your boat, and go to the far end. That is where we get a lot of crappie. Go back into the little tributaries surrounded by weeds for pike or bowfin. The possiblilties are endless, and hardly anyone fishes there. That is no fish story, and I would honestly take a trip to Geneiva instead of the great lakes. Quote
