After reading another post it got me wondering if anyone else in MA has seen the gators. In 2005 during a "T" on Whitehall res. in Hopkinton MA we had a team next to us freaking out. As we pulled up to see if they were ok they exclaim" we just saw a friggin Gator man"  ;D ;D ;D ;D As it is these two guys are gone and......well lets just say they're way to silly. So of course we just laughed uncontrolably(at them not with them ;D) for the next five minutes as they continued rambling on trying to get us to believe. The weigh-in was interesting to say the least. 15 guys berating and hackling the gator boys. ;D ;D

Two weeks go by and the monster of whitehall continues it's mystical ways and reverberates thoughout the groups. Then this comes out in the news:

We all ate crow for weeks and still to this day they won't let us forget it!   :-[ Can't say i blame them. Since then there has been one alligator story after another all backed by capture and or confirmed sightings by authorities. I now believe in aliens and gators in MA ;)

Like the article said most likely it was somebodys pet that let it go in the lake. I would almost put my house up on a bet that no alligator could survie a New England winter and still survive. But thats just my opinion.

I absolutely agree! It's just not something I wouldn't expect to see while out on the water in New England and seems to be an ongoing trend.

Be aware, this could be a sign of things to come ;):)

Its definately a case of release. If the authorities haven't found said alligator(s) then they'll more than likely die off this winter. This is why I stick to swimming in swimming pools only. I might run into a few crickets but they can't EAT ME!  ;)

if they are anything like turtles they may be able to live the winter in suspened animation like i have seen turtles under ice just sitting on bottom as long as ice crytals dont form on and through there body ???? who knows  they say gators and crocs were around during the dinosuar era im sure they could survive 3 months of cold water
