macmaster761 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Hey, i'm dying to go fishin, i've gone twice this cold march already in MA. Havent caught anything yet cause its so cold and the water is so cold. I know i have to fish REAL slow if I'm ever going to catch anything in this weather, but what lures would be good for this weather, how would you fish them? :-/ Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 16, 2008 Super User Posted March 16, 2008 Forget what you heard about fishing slow, rattle-traps and jerkbaits are two great baits for cold water up here. But if want to fish slow, can't beat a jig. Quote
fishizzle Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Just went Sat. and caught 5 bass in 3hrs 2 were on the same jerkbait at the same time both 3lbs and I wasn't fishing that slow, 2 sec pause, 2 hard jerks 1 on 1/2oz black jig 4lb 1 on texas rig zoom worm cut to 3", 4lb 1 on mepps spinner with 6" plastic worm trailer 5lb this spinner produces consistantly in cold weather All fish were on rocks or rocky points Quote
