HesterIsGod Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Here in Chicago, I just saw the 7 day from Tom Skilling. Highs in the 20's and a high of 16 on Friday, with a low of 6!!! Snow every day. On Sunday it warms to a whopping 36 :'( Quote
tyrius. Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Next wednesday we're looking at 48!!! Seriously, this winter has sucked big time. Give me some 50 degree days please! One pond I fish has a bit of open water where a creek runs through it. I may try and get out for a bit of time and at least make some casts. Quote
michbass Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I feel you. Just think though it is coming soon and gives use something to look forward too. Just needs to happen now. Quote
Dean Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 We had a high of 51 today with rain. Hopefully this will help melt some ice. Quote
HesterIsGod Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 Just saw the seven day today and it is suppose to warm up after Saturday, in Chicago at least. Cant wait Quote
Kozak Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 It was 50 ish on Monday, 55 on Tuesday with rain, and today it's supposed to barely get to 50, tommorrow looks like 48 max. It's supposed to stay in the high 40s during the day but in the upcoming week it could get as cold as 13 at night. No more snow in the forecast...thankfully, just rain. Going to check the local reservoir tommorrow and see if I can fish for a bit, it's usually the first place open because of water pumps always running in the middle. Spring's here...I hope : Quote
dman Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 i am also done with this winter! I'm sick of pitching my hookless jig into an empty coffee can in my living room good sign = our 7 day forecast has five of the seven days hitting at least 40 degrees, bring it on! Quote
ctd Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Ice just broke here last week. I caught 3 bass at a local pond on Monday evening after work, it was 60 degrees out. Going back tonight. Quote
bassdocktor Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Well on the upside, I've only seen ice on the Chicago river once this year. That's was early in the morning on my way to school. I know some guys aren't expecting ice out on the big lake til mid-April. Quote
tritz18 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Went to my spot today hoping for a little open water. All I was slushy ice > But as I drove past one of our major rivers I saw some guys in a boat fishing, cause theres open water there. guess thats a good sign Quote
Tom H. Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 It's slowly coming to an end . The bigger lakes around here are starting to open up a little bit . Quote
fishizzle Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Yup we have some open water now too. Thank God. Sorry people more north. I have to go into the cold water though.. some jerk put my rowboat in the water that was on shore, now its 2 feet deep huuuuuh I don't have time for this Quote
