Mine was 8 1/2 on the button,4" electric blue worm. No skill involved it was pure luck ;D I took my 6 yr old son out for some sunfish and made a few casts with the worm. Right place right time :)

9.2  RI

Same as BDawg, no skill.  Was putting a topwater on a set up when the rod slid across the deck, lol.  Christmas cider power worm when they first came out was sitting on the bottom for a few minutes while I addressed the other rod.

I'd rather be lucky than good sometimes :)

7.2 largemouth on a strike king wild thang flipping heavy lily pads, and a 6.1 smallmouth in a  river my aunt lives on, on a crayfish colored crankbait

6 lb, 11 oz on March 31 last year--my first day out that year! Talk about peaking too early. . .

Caught her on a 3/8 oz black/blue Mann's Stone jig with a matching Zoom super chunk trailer. I was so surprised, I forgot to take a photo. . .

This year I pulled a 6 lbs. 14 ounce largie from Johnsons pond on a watermelon/copper jig.

I got my PB smallie this past year at Pachaug in CT this year. Definatley over 4 pounds, the formula said it was about 4.76. She hit a green pumpkin jig in 6 inches of water. The worst part was the 6 pound smallie my buddy lost on the next dock.

6 lbs 13 oz.  back in 1990.  I was fishing for Calico with my neighbor during March (yes the ice was off early) and there was nothing doing with the Calico so I switched to a small jig & pig.  I had 6 lb test and a light action rod.

I also caught a 6 lb 11 oz on my first outing this year on a lipless crankbait, only fish caught that day and the bar was set high for the year.

8lbs. 2oz. LM 1990 on a 1/2 oz. Rattle trap blue on chrome.  Never caught anything over 5 lbs. at this point in my life.  It was POURING out, had only caught  a couple dinks, and this was my hail mary cast out into open water on a small private pond from shore.

8lbs. 2 oz. LM  again!!  Happy, but so disappointed!!  2003 on a 3/8 oz. Strike King spinnerbait, blue and chart, single gold colorado.  Third cast on a weedline in about 6 feet of water, 1.5 hrs. into the day.

4 lbs. 7 oz.  SM  2002 on a 3/8 oz. Terminator spinnerbait, firetiger, double willow.  8 ft. flat with a bunch of huge boulders 20 ft off an outside weedline.

Just a hair over 6lbs in the Manasquan Reservoir on a 1/2oz Arkie Jig with an eel trailer. Middle of the day 85 degrees outside. A real thrill in my neck of the woods.

Hey Low B, yeah from RI the "BUCKET" Pawtucket. Thanks for the welcome! South county haaa, caught my biggest from your neck of the woods also broke the RI record for Pickerel but never realized it until I got home and checked 7.8 lbs as well as almost braking the RI Smallie record on the same day. We'll have to hook up and do some fishin.

I doubt here in Connecticut the LMB will be broken any time soon...

I hate not always having a scale or a type of measuring tool, thats usually when I would catch my biggest fish lol...

2 years ago I was fishing a small weed filled lake on my friends birthday.

After fishing for about 20minutes I changed my senko to a light pink/transparent senko and casted it a distance to a random hole in the weeds.

BAM  a huge hit I set the hook and the fish runs for no more then 10 seconds before it comes off, MY FRIEND LAUGHS AT ME

I cast out again into another hole near the last one I casted in, this time I had more of a slow pull I set the hook and fight in a 6lb 14oz LMB

There isn't a full week of fishing that goes by where I don't catch a 5lb or larger...

Before I tell you this next story I would like to add

I am allergic to bees

My wife didn't take good pictures (maybe because she was more concerned of my health)

Last year close to the end of June

Fishing a local reservoir

Alone on foot, I start working the shore

I work my way around the bend catching one 1lb largemouth on a small yellow/white skirt spinnerbait

Casting though piles of under water weeds I get a smashing hit but, bring in a bunch of weeds.

I pick up my other rod in which I change my green pumpkin senko to a smoke shad color senko.

I cast back into the exact same spot I had the hit and again a huge hit

I set the hook and the fish is on and running

I work my way to an embankment (which is is covered with rocks) fighting the largemouth

I finally get the fish closer to shore when I feel a bunch of sharp pin like stings over my left eye, my left arm and my left like

NOW RUNNING still trying to get the fish to shore

I called my wife with one hand

Set the phone down and while grabbing the huge lmb I tell her I got stung by a sh** load of bees

"I am on the way" she says

"WAIT WAIT make sure you bring the cam" I said

I hang up and run up the hill with a fishing pole and phone in one hand and the bass in the other...

I walk toward the entrance and hold the bass in the water

My wife gets there very quickly 5 minutes or less

Takes a few pics, the bass is released and I go to the hospital

The LM weighed 7lb 5oz

I sat at the hospital twice that day/night and had a swollen face for about a week which including walking around the shore of a lake on the 4th of July.

Looking odd to all of the spectators waiting to watch the fire works

Wow, those are some great catches for a bunch of northerners. My best LM went 4lb 9oz and my best smallie was about 2.5lb on a cheapo spring scale. Hoping to lay into some of the more respectable fishies that obviously DO populate our waters. :)

In fifty years of fishing, mostly in upstate NY I've taken one 7 and one 7.2.  The funny thing is they came on consecutive days.

The 7.0 was on a crankbait I bought for 99cents out of a bargain bin, at a bait store, two days before.  That fish came from the Oneida River in the old canal lock at Caughdenoy.  The next day I got the 7.2 on a Moss Boss at Sandy Pond.

Thanks. That is what I thought when I saw it. ;D

That would be a record any where in the NE are you sure that wasn't caught in the North Easter part of Mexico?

lol

Edit:

Well since its almost 4am and my eyes are half open and my brain drained, I thought the post said 25.5lbs

Not believing what I thought I read, I reread the post and realized I was wrong
