Both of those lakes are loaded with bass.  Bellaire has the smallie hogs, while Intermediate has more of a mix.  They are not connected or at least passable by boat.  I would fish them both.

Bellaire is connected to a huge chain of lakes made up of Clam, Torch, skegmog, and Elk.  Intermediate is also a chain but is connected to skinnier water-river- Largemouth type stuff.

Try posting on the Michigan Sportsman forum to get more specific information.  Good luck!

I fished Intermediate about 5 yrs. ago (once). I didn't catch but a few small lm, but saw some huge crawfish. The lake was muddied up or for all i know it could be that color all the time. I fish on the Clam  (lk/river) and usually catch them pretty good. Nice area.

I havent been upto lake Bellaire in about 12 years but when I would go up there it was great for smallies and walley. I taked to a DNR officer when I was up there last and he told me that 90% of the fish in that lake die of old age and that there is more species of fish in that lake than any other lake in michigan other than the great lakes.
