FishingBuds Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Sorry man don't know myself, have you tried those topo book maps at walmart? I found a few more fishy holes that way, the dnr book is helpfull as well good luck. Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I fish Lake Malone and Kentucky Lake pretty heavily during the summer. I have yet to catch a bass out of Carpenter or King fisher! ;D I've pulled several 6+ lb. largemouth out of the Ohio, but I have a boat so it's easier than fishing from shore. I can think of several good places on the Ohio to fish from shore. If you want to know a few let me know, and I can tell you where they are. Quote
crazy4bass1 Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 please tell me the places that are good fishin in the ohio ( from the shore ) Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 You can fish Little Hurricane boat docks, from the barge outlet at Owensboro Grain, and then there is the Pump Out at OMU. You can also fish the Indiana side of the river in case you didn't know that. There are all kinds of access points on the Ohio River from the Indiana side. I can tell you how to get to them if you are interested. Kentucky shares the Indiana side of the Ohio, and you can fish it with a KY License. Quote

JigginKid Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Bringing this thread back from the dead, maybe I'll get a reply. I also live in the Owensboro area. I fish peabody now and then but dont catch much without a boat. Used to go out to windy hollow and fish pits out there but now you get run off because its all private property. Id like to try and fish the Ohio as it seems most people just fish for cats. Above there are those places mentioned where you can bank fish but how do you get down to them? Obviously you can drive right up to the Little Hurricane docks but the barge outlet at obo grain and the place at OMU? Are those areas easy to get to? Im open to any tips on finding the fish because I love doing it but there just isn't much in this area. Quote
