vaparrothead Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Anybody hearing about results from trips to Brazil? I'm heading out in a few weeks and was wondering Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted October 23, 2010 Super User Posted October 23, 2010 Buddy of mine left yesterday. I think he's going on the Amazon King. I'm looking forward to hearing some reports soon. Quote
vaparrothead Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 Been back a week from worst trip ever to Brazil. Probably lots of reasons why five experienced peacock angelers caught dinky butterfly fish and the new guy caught the four biggest fish of the week. Water levels were low then day and half of rain, water was high and cool (cool being relative). One fish had a parasite in its throat that makes it difficult for the fish to swallow. I think it was just an overall bad year. Haven't heard anyone with really GREAT news. Oh well you put your money in and you takes your chances. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted November 30, 2010 Super User Posted November 30, 2010 Sorry to hear that. My buddy didn't have a bad trip, not a great one either though. Nothing huge really. A few fish broke into the 12 pound range, but thats about it. He said the same thing about the water levels. Lowest he's seen it. Wish I could have made it this year either way. You've always got a chance at a beast. One big fish can make it worthwhile. I've got some big prop baits I made sitting in the garage collecting dust. Looks like the guys from Tackletour had a great trip though. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 3, 2011 Super User Posted January 3, 2011 Weird how with the water levels being low it was bad. Last year for me was the best ever. Not sure how great the guys from TT did. I dont theink they had any fish over 20 lbs? Also depends on where they went. I'm dissapointed that the Amazon Tours Lodge is now closed. Bad economy did them in. Hmmm....Next big trip will have to be Argentina and the Golden Dorado. Quote
