rippin_lips Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I am thinking about spending my spring break next year fishing in Mexico. I did some preliminary research and found a lodge on Lake Huites that looks nice. I have never fished below the border and was hoping someone who has could help me out. Is Huites a good lake for a first timer in mexico, or are there better options? Also, my break usually falls mid-march, how is the fishing around that time. Thanks for any input. Quote

Z21Maryland Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 For someone looking to catch quantity Huites is fine for quantity and a little better quality Mateos is better, for quality and not as much quantity Bacarac is the place. I have been ther a total of 6 times to 3 different lakes and my favorite is Mateos. Let me know if there is space for your trip always up for another mexican Adventure Quote

Stan Wright Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Everyone should fish bass in Mexico before they die. You will love it... we've always gone with Reel Mexican Adventures. The have lodges on several of the lakes mentioned above. I'd rather go for quantity than quality.... Quote
