Hey Nathan if you like tourney fishing you should check out the central pro-am. Numbers took a dip after the recession but it is being revitalized. They've gone back to a 2 day format and top 30 boaters and top 30 co anglers fish in the championship. Lots of really good folks. Last year rick clunn and Brian snowden fished in one of our events. The tournaments will be at table rock, bull shoals, stockton and LOZ. Owner is a great guy. Pro guide on table rock and I was fortunate enough to fish with him in a couple tournaments before he bought the tournament. http://webboutdoors.com/central-pro/ Quote

Hey Bob, Used to live near you - by Hamtpon and Eichelberger. I live in Crestwood now. When they aren't iced over I'm usually at the city/ county lakes too - typically Jefferson Lake in Forest Park, Queeny Park, Carondalet, and Simpson Park. Quote

BigBirdSTL Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Anyone fish Unger this year? I just discovered the lake, my girlfriend lives less than 2 miles from it! I was thinking of putting my canoe in and giving it a try. Would love any advise on the lake. Quote

I caught one big one out of there last spring, but the lake is not managed by the Missouri Dept. Of Conservation, so any fish have to come from the river when it floods. It is very low right now and I don't think you will really catch much outside of asian carp, drum, or gar. Quote
salmicropterus Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 New to the area...just moved to St. Louis from Florida. I know, sounds crazy. Two weeks ago was fishing at Lake Okeechobee. I grew up (debatable) in St. Louis though and fished most of the White River impoundments, Pomme and LOZ back then. Keeping my house in Florida but will bring Triton 21 with Evinrude 250 HO up next spring. In the interim, I'm a back of the boater. Quote
Mxtaylor Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Just recently moved to the St Louis area too- live near downtown and work downtown. For now, I'm stuck on the shore. There's a lot more wooded shoreline around here than I'm used to in KS. Been trying places like Unger, Simpson, and a few other places. If anyone ever needs a fishing partner, send me a message! If you are near downtown hit up Jefferson Lake in Forest Park. Lots of submerged weeds that provide nice shelter for bass. In the summer they stack up in the grass patch toward the middle of the lake. Quote

All the lily pads on the south end are pretty nice with a hollow belly frog too. Never caught anything big out of there, but there is fish there. 1 Quote
