Mr_Scrogg Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Ryan has a pick of a 16" Spot that was gorgeous Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I had fun today guys. Much better if I landed those 2the monster smallies. My run of bad luck continues. Sorry to say it will be the last long trip for me for a while. Just too much $$ in gas. Looks like Butler and the sand pit will be all I see for a while. Wish I got to try that pink 110 Curt. Didnt get a chance to hunt you down. Quote

Mr_Scrogg Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Over 19. Both. One dark dark brown. Other lighter color. Both Smallies, both TANKS Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 24, 2013 Super User Posted October 24, 2013 It was hard to get Sizzle off the whites (lol) but we did manage to catch a few smallies! Including this one that went a fuz over 4 I'd like to say the Pink was the way to go but after today I'm going to call that bait "save the smallies" Because it didn't catch anything. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 24, 2013 Global Moderator Posted October 24, 2013 Anybody get some good pictures of drum? Man I could have got you some great drum pictures. I was catching some monster drum, super fat and really hard pulling. We didn't catch much, mostly smallies but probably around 25 all day. I also caught 3 largemouth and a spot, a few crappie, a few whites, and a keeper walleye. Jon had a spot, a couple crappie, and several whites. Ned rigs, shakyheads, Keitechs, a couple on spinnerbaits, one on a squarebill, jigging spoons, and a wacky rig. The dam was best for us with deeper water being better. Quote

SuperFluke Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Was a darn cold morning and it didn't warm up that much. I think it took the whole drive home for my hands to thaw out. I couldn't get bit in the normal places early in the morning, so I started cruising around. Found a bank where the white bass were just on fire. Was throwing a strike king caffeine shad, and getting the rod ripped out of my hands. Those were in the back of a large creek, and about halfway out of that creek I got my best fish of the day in about a 18" of water. A 3.5 lb largemouth on the caffeine shad on a flat near a secondary point. Caught several dinks after that on ned rig and tube. I flew solo today, so my pictures aren't great. Blue might have one of me with my big fish. Quote
joefish Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Pretty chilly early this morning, but hooked up with a couple smallies right away. Spent all my time on the dam since we were catching smallmouth. Did not scale any but had several 15 to 17 in hers. Was good talking to some of you guys that I had not met before Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 25, 2013 Super User Posted October 25, 2013 It's the one on the golden rule in the pic. It was just over 18" and built like a football. The one in my avatar was 19" and 4# 4oz Quote
kylek Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 So what types of lures worked the best out there today? I am thinking of heading out there this weekend with my father in law and was looking for some extra info. Was the dam the best spot today? I have only been out there once and mainly stayed there. Any help you can give will be appreciated. Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Shakeys, Neds, plastic swimbaits, few on lipless for us. Oddly enough, to pigs I lost came in around 5FOW. With Deeper water nearby. Both fish were thought as snags at first. No bite/thump. Just weight. Quote
