I have been out of the country for 3 weeks I have eating enough fish for all of us but really I am really wanting to hit the lake and catch them so if theres an open seat on wednesday, Thursday, or Friday I would love to join one of you that's unless c. shaurer can get off work and go but I doubt it so pm me or text me if you have my number.

Let me know if you can get a Thursday off and I'd be more than happy to.

I wish I could, but I am interning at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Wichita. I love it, but I have to get 810 hours of internship for my masters degree, so my fishing has been very limited to say the least. Any chance I can catch bass in the Arkansas River right behind my workplace? I walked a bit of it the other day and it has some bassy looking spots!

You could catch a disease in the River. Lol. You want to catch some fish, pm me. Ill put you on some of my bank hopping spots

Had a really interesting day out on tuttle this past saturday. We were fishing for bass and caught 5 or 6 (first time on tuttle) but we ended up getting into a school of whites and caught one of the biggest white bass i have ever personally seen then all of a sudden we started catching saugeye like no other between the two of us i think we caught probably 25 whites and 10 if not more saugeye. The surprising thing was that they were all on lipless baits in about 10ft of water.

Cool.  I've never caught a saugeye.. dont think at least

Anyone try the new Arbogast buzz-plug around here?  I just ordered one in the rat color.  I went out tuesday night and my best bite was on a little spook type prop bait so i'm hoping the rat will tear em up.

I bought a buzz plug when I went down to OK for the classic but haven't caught anything on it. Granted I only used it a few times.. Would like to try it some more but haven't pulled it out in a few weeks.. Good luck with it!

I know i dont post to much on here, but i constantly look on here for everyones updates. I talk to Bluebasser quite a bit as well through pm's. I took his advice about a month ago and decided to give it a go. Let me just say it paid off big time. My friend and I have caught multiple 4lb, and 5lb bass and he even got him a beautiufl 7lb bass. Went again today and I caught my personal best. I know its not to much bigger then my last PB of 5lb but she weighed in at 5 1/2 lbs. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Not sure how to post a picture or I would.

Glad it's paying off for you. I have a photobucket account that I use to post pictures on here. It's free and makes it a lot easier to do. If you email them to me I'll see if I can get them on here. I'm assuming you went to Wabaunsee again? I'd like to get those pictures up to give everyone on the fence about coming to the fall get together that much more reason why they should be there :)

Is Melvern worth going to this time of year?

In my limited experience with the brown fish, if you don't have to wear at least a light jacket fishing is usually not worth a darn.

I've done very well down there during the warmer months, they're just a little tougher to figure out. usually fishing a little slower and a littler deeper is the trick.

Here you go fellas. Fisher_C had never fished Wabaunsee before I suggested he try it. Just a couple more reasons why the fall get together will be at Wabaunsee!

A buddy from work and I fished Cedar Valley Thursday. It was good in the morning but got tough later one when the wind died and it got hot. Biggest surprise was 2 spotted bass we caught in the morning? They aren't listed as being in there and we didn't catch any the first time out there so it was a shock when I caught a dink on a chatterbait then Jon caught this one on a shakyhead, no doubt it's a spot.

No monsters but I had a couple keepers jump off and caught a set of bookends, 3.06 on a baby brush hog and 3.08 on a home made jig.

I broke off on a big fish on the hookset too. Pulled my jig off a drop off and just got hammered. My biggest fish of the day was my first fish of the day and was probably in the 7-8 pound range and just inhaled my chatterbait, too bad it was a drum  :laugh5:

Cbass and I fished Olathe for a bit Friday morning. It was a little tougher than last week with the water clearing up and the fish scattering out. I apparently have the touch for these guys out there though, this is the 3rd one in 2 trips, this time on a Bandit 100.

For the second time this year I got a double. This time it was at my super secret after work spot :) Some of you guys know where I was, just a little spot that could be fished out really fast by one or two people if they started keeping fish.

A buddy and I went out to Mound City Lake yesterday.  We thought the clouds were going to stick around and be a cooler day.  NOPE, it was the complete opposite.  Partly cloudy skies with little to no wind.  It was hot and humid.  It was a good thing Casey's was close by because we brought some water and powerade but ended up going back to Casey's to get more water.  Water temperature was around 80-88.  We caught approximately 30 or so largemouth bass.  I landed two 19 inch bass and 1 18 inches.  I also had another one maybe 18 inches spit me out at the boat.  All together it was a fun day.  Caught the majority of mine on a variety of topwater (buzzbait, popper, and hollow body frog).  I also caught a few on senkos, jigs, squarebills, wakebaits, and variety of soft plastics texas rigged.

19 inches.  Smacked a popper.

19 inches.  Caught it on a white buzzbait.

18 inches.  Exploded on white buzzbait.

KC Gents,

Hey guys. I am coming to KC in mid July to visit a buddy and do some fishing, we both love bass fishing. I'm looking for some local insight on a few good spots within an hour of the city. Any help would be appreciated and I will be sure to report back on how we did.

Thanks

IMO just keep up with this thread, most of us if not all fish together and are a pretty tight group when it comes to whats hot and whats not. Keep an eye on that Bluebasser guy he seems to know how and where to find them at all times :)! Whats the exact location in KC you are visiting?

took my 3 year old boy to the pond this morning first fish was his first bass ever ( 1 lb er) on his spider man pole then a few bluegill  a pee off the dock ( 1st time) a poop in the woods ( 1st time) then another bass ( 2 lb er) pretty good day of 1st for the both of us and some good father/son bonding those are the best days fishing if you ask me. If Chris s. needs any advice he can ask my 3 year old now :laugh5: . I might just start buying 13 dollar fishing poles from now on and worms. :fishing1:
