Went to wyco today with my neighbor, and we caught 4 bass and lost two, before the rain started.  Lost a good fish.   Best day I've ever had out there.  Slowly figuring it out.

Have you ever looked through the old Wyco thread?

No!  Can't believe I haven't found it yet.  I'll go check it out!  Thanks!

Trying to get my neighbor to fish some of the tournaments.  He has all the wyco boat fees paid.  We'll make it out there eventually.

Read through that wyco thread.  I know what baits I'll have tied on next time I go out there now!  Thanks for turning me onto it!

Was the water still muddy when you were out there?

I wouldn't say it was muddy, just pretty stained, it has definitely cleared up a lot, at least on the dam.  I doubt I could see my table rock special vision 110 in more than a foot of water.  There was a rocky point where you could see the bottom in a few feet of water.

The fish are a starting to get acclimated to the dirty water. Generally when it is muddy out there the smallies disappear..I caught three out there yesterday.

I’ve caught plenty of fish out there this year already. But I did enjoy watching some really big ones follow my bait when the water was clear last year.

If anyone is heading out to wyco for the tournaments or just fun fishing, and would like a backseater let me know!  I live 2 minutes from wyco, and I can pay tournament fees, and can help with gas.

Went to leavenworth county lake today, and fished out of the lifetime kayak.  Caught about 20, and a bunch a pad crasher.  My buddy caught a four, and my biggest was about 2.  It was a lot of fun!

Yeah, super clear.  Water is up a lot though.

It's good that it came up. It has been low for a long time. That lake does not seem to get dirty with the rain.

I was fishing a private pond in Shawnee, about 5 minutes away from smp, and notice that there were a couple balls of fry?!?!?  I go to the pond at least once a week, and I've seen bass come up to make beds, but haven't seen a single bass on a bed.  The bluegill are on beds though.   I pitched a jig into the fry and didn't catch anything, and also threw a frog over top of the fry, nothing happened.  There is a bass making a bed by a dock, but he isn't close to being locked on yet.  Do you guys think the fry were bass or gill fry?  I can't believe they've spawned already (cause of the crazy weather), if it is bass fry.

There are catfish, crappie, different kinds of gills, koi, and wipers(sterile).  Could it be another one of these, other than the wipers?

Thanks!

I saw some balls of fry at Kill Creek and Gardner both last week. There were still fish on beds at Milford last weekend.

Anyone ever fished Miami SFL? Thinking of trekking down there to avoid some of the holiday chaos.

...Also considering just bring my boat home and wiring up my Livescope. Lol

Buddy of mine wants to shore fish Hillsdale by the bridge.

You're not going to avoid any holiday shenanigans at Miami. There's going to be 10 tents on every pier (where the fish are), and probably 15-20 boats/kayaks/canoes. Plus there's no patrol out there so it gets pretty rough. Had a guy get attacked by a random stranger a few years ago for no apparent reason who tried to drown him and they never caught the guy.

Well thats a bummer. I went down there scouting for waterfowl towards the end of the season January/Feb. Seemed like a cool place that may not be super popular. Guess I shoulda just took off today and did my holiday fishing

If I wake up early enough I’ll join my buddy at Hillsdale. If not I may wire up my livescope but I haven't decided where I want to mount my blackbox.

Going to help the in-laws in Atchison Sunday, maybe I’ll take a pole. Monday looks like a wash.

Got out to SMP in the kayak for a while Saturday and had a pretty nice morning.

Went out to a lake about an hour and a half away from the house.  Got there at 6, and fished till 1.  It was one of the best/most fun days of fishing I've ever had.

We flipped mats, frogged, threw the jackhammer around a little bit.  These fish are the hardest fighters I've encountered in Kansas.  3/4 people our group caught a 4+ pounder, and my buddies fishing from there boat said they had about a 20+ pound bag for best five.  I had a 12-15 pound bag.  We didn't catch a ton of fish(10-15 for me), but everyone of the fish I caught towed the yak, and tried there best to get away.  When we first got to the lake one of my buddies threw a Arashi Glide in 3 foot of water, from the bank, and hooked up on a fish, but lost it at the bank.  Shad were spawning.  Only caught one frog fish, which was the only dink of the day.  This is my new favorite lake in Kansas.

My biggest was a four caught on a lizard^
