Wyandotte. Those fish are very much the exception to what you can expect to catch there. 90% of the bass in that lake are under 15", probably less than 1% are over 4 pounds, but they are in there. @Dirtyeggroll I hope you're happy, I ended up buying a KGB crappie because of you ? 2 Quote

Spent a lot of time out there over the last 4 years. Like you said there are a few big fish, but not many. One thing I have noticed this year is fish in the 15 to 18 inch range are extremely rare. You either catch small fish or big fish. I am assuming with the extra fishing pressure, they have all been harvested. 1 Quote

I gotcha. I'm new to the KC area - live in Platte City. Don't own a boat so, I'm always looking for good bank fishing. I tend to stick to neighborhood lakes and whatnot because of that. I want to hit Wyco and Smithville for sure. Went out to Watkins Mill buy, that was pretty tough for a bank fisherman. At least where I was. I'd love to make some friends with boaters! Always willing to pay for gas and food. If anyone is ever up to meet up in the area I'd love to meet up. Boat or no boat I'm definitely interested in getting to know guys around here. Not sure if anyone would be up to hang out but, send me a message if you are! Quote

Dirtyeggroll Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Anyone have any recommendation for someone to do some landscaping in the area? Wanting to build a small pavestone retaining wall around part of the front of my house as a sort of shrubbery/flower bed. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 21, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 21, 2020 Get it while it's good. That fall bite is going. Few hours after work this morning with a DT6, Booyah Covert, and RES 2tap. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 25, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 25, 2020 Had another great day on the water Friday. Best 5 were a little over 21lbs. 2 Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted October 25, 2020 Super User Posted October 25, 2020 Stockton Lake is on right now. Took a bit to get on the fish but once we did we crushed them. No huge fish but a lot of 2.5-3lbs fish. Swim jig on rock walls in about 35 feet of water. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 26, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 26, 2020 The little local lakes are still cranking but this week is really going to knock them back if we get the cold rain. The snow isn't a problem, but over an inch of cold rain is going to muddy the water and cool it way down. At least I had my fun while it lasted. Got a new lake PB this morning with a 5.53 and a new best 5 fish bag for the lake. 2 Quote

hobson232 Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Question for the KC folks. Does anyone know if you can put a standard fiberglass bass boat with gas motor on Shawnee Mission Park lake? I know the regulation says electric motor only and with purchase of a permit. If you were to not fire up the big motor and only use the trolling motor, I assume this would this pass? Any have experience with this? Thanks! Quote

You also have to take the prop off too. But you can definitely put a fiberglass boat on it. Quote

Yes you can and you do not have to take the prop off, just don't start the motor. 1 Quote
