if you have an Evinrude or Johnson  engine Denny at Wyandotte Lake Marina might do a water pump for you.  He did mine a couple years ago.

Anyone ever fish out at Berlin Reservoir (Kansas City International Airport)? My wife started a job on the new addition to the airport and keeps sending me pictures of the lake (Berlin reservoir).

Hmm, I have not. Is it accessible and permitted? If so I would be interested in a trip Mike!

Found some better ones at WyCo. Caught 36 between the two of us from 6-11AM.

There's quite a few in there, and they love swimbaits. I've had a good number of limits and even culled when the conditions were good, ending up with 5 fish limits in the mid teen range. Then I'd go out on Wednesday night and be lucky to have 1 or 2 keepers to weigh in. I swear those fish know when it's Wednesday night.

Gardner was a whole lot of fun this morning.

Fished Bone Creek today with my dad. We caught nine altogether. The big was a 3 1/2 they should’ve weighed five. The best five fish were just under 14 pounds. Not bad for never having seen the lake before, in my opinion. Will update with some pictures later.DE4390D5-8724-4D84-A927-F948FF3E4F41.thumb.jpeg.20d54590f0df0a0f1d96bd4a6b564a6e.jpeg8B26A224-90A8-481A-95D8-F56CC424DCEE.thumb.jpeg.2d73bf37e0b7b653828f2c3a3d413513.jpeg

By this time of year, that lake has been fished so hard and those fish are so stressed they can be pretty difficult to catch.

I keep saying I’m going to try somewhere new in the KC metro, but this keeps happening. I found a mid upper teens limit of them today.

Went to Jacomo this morning with my dad. Caught 5 fish total, all on a 10” worm. The biggest was around 4 lbs or so, with the others in the 1-2 lb range. I caught 4 at the northern end of the lake with lots of bites from smaller fish that I couldn’t quite set into with the big worm, but I first started by the sailboat cove and caught one small guy. What I figured out from my day out there is that all 4 fish from the northern end (and most of my bites) were in grass in probably 6-10 ft of water. Wind and shaded areas also played a big factor cause today was a hot one.

Tough out at Gardner with the water temp dropping 6 or so degrees and having some color added to it due to the rain.

Managed to put 4 in the boat and lost one more. Missed a few bites.

Had some of the biggest bass I have ever seen come up and lick my KGB crappie at WyCo today. Once I finally figure out the cadence to make the fish eat, I think they had already had enough. Got a few nice ones in the boat. And more followers than I can count.

There are a few big fish out there, but they are finicky. It seems you found something to get their interest. I spent a  few hours at Olathe today. It was pretty slow. Water only had 1 foot of visibility. And the fish were not up shallow. Ended up with 8 dinks for the day.

It was funny because I spent most of the morning getting frustrated that they would follow to the boat and then gently kiss the bait before swimming off. I was fishing the docks and a pontoon guy was talking with me about the lake and I took my hand off the reel a few times which really slowed the retrieve and that’s when the first one actually committed. Because I had tried quite a few different cadence/retrieved throughout the day, after I got the fish in - clicked what I needed to do. I caught 4 more keepers off the docks in about a half hour after that. I was already an hour behind the time I was supposed to leave, so I just smiled that I put some good ones in the boat and headed out.

I caught a few dinks on a ned and drop shot, but had a ton of followers on the glide. Even a very large smallmouth.

Been kinda quiet in here. Heat just getting to everyone? I’ve been working a ton and my boat has been out of commission.

Looks like some cooler weather for the next couple weeks and already seeing leaves starting to change and some on the ground. I personally have never had much luck in the fall. Hoping that will change this year.
