Russ E Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 took my first 2020 trip to La Cygne on Wednesday. It was a slow day until this girl hit my jerkbait. I forgot to turn the camera on until I was weighing the fish. 3 Quote

I have not caught much there either. I found a group of brushpiles there a while back with the side imaging. I fish it a little nearly every time I am there and finally caught something. It looked like you had a pretty good day lure hunting. 1 Quote

pauldconyers Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I have a couple of items I am getting ready to post for sale in the flea market and thought I'd give you local guys a shot first to avoid shipping costs and hassle. I have two brand new Dobyns Champions I am selling. One is the 7'3" DC 734C S/H and the other is a 7'3" DC 735C S/H. I also have a brand new Shimano Curado K 8.5:1 that I will be selling. Only item I think I would accept back in some manner regarding a trade would be a Shimano Expride 7'2" MH. If anyone has interest let me know and if not I'll post it in the flea market soon. Thanks! Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 7, 2020 Global Moderator Posted March 7, 2020 Tried to fish Lake Shawnee Thursday, man what a disappointment. The lake had about a foot of visibility and was really cold still. Warmest I saw that wasn't in a foot of water in the back of a cove was 43. South end by the south ramp was barely 40. Struggled to catch about a dozen bass, most of those were on a cleo fishing for trout, a few trout, a drum, and a small wiper. Going to give it a couple weeks before I try it again. The wiper was really the only sort of bright spot. Caught it on a cleo on my ultralight and 4lb test, so it was a fun fight. You can see how nasty, greenish-brown the water was from the algae bloom that was going on. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 14, 2020 Global Moderator Posted March 14, 2020 Things are happening! Jerkbait and spinnerbait, WT 48-52. These were not coldwater bites or fights, they were hammering it and pulling like crazy. 1 Quote

pauldconyers Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 I am thinking about hitting Jacomo tomorrow with boat and my 9 year old for LMB. I've never fished Jacomo this early in the year and was curious if anyone had some tips or spots (preferably near one of the ramps) they would recommend? Quote

Go south from the ramp and just fish that bank or go straight across and fish the sailboat cove and south from there. Quote

Isn't there a second boat ramp there at sailboat cover? Either spot certain baits you'd recommend? Quote

I normally do good on bladed jigs and plastics but a jerkbait could probably be good right now too if the water isn't dirty. Quote

Last summer when I went out there that's the ramp I put my boat in at! Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 19, 2020 Global Moderator Posted May 19, 2020 Never had a year like this one for smallmouth over 4 pounds in Kansas. Crazy thing, only one came out of a popular lake for smallmouth. 4.14 4.08 4.04 4.91 4.67 4 Quote
