Thought about driving my truck to work and seeing if they wanted to lift the prints, would have been really easy for them, but didn't bother since there wasn't really any crime committed.

You a cop or something? Just curious. Glad your truck wasnt broke into. I always try to ensure all valables are locked up or hidden.

Ah cool. Thanks for your service. My buddy just started at Shawnee.

Was gonna go out to Hillsdale today but heard Clinton was pretty rough, figured Hillsdale would be the same. Had a pretty consistent bite at Gardner.

LaCygne fish are starting to get chunky. Caught several of these footballs on Saturday. Once I found the schools, shad color senkos worked the best. My gopro died and is being "fixed" by their warranty dept, so I'm stuck with taking selfies for now.

I enjoy reading all the reports you guys post but not seeing a lot of the Missouri side. With us packing to move into a new house I've had no real free time to fish but when I do I'll report.

I really figured the "blue" referred to rippin lips the blue boat.

Nah, I was on here before blue boat was a twinkle in the BA's eye.

Kinda like my name has nothing to do with a boat.  Still disappointed to learn the blue isn't the boat.

I fished Melvern yesterday despite the cold front based upon some previous success I've had this time of year.

I ended up only catching a handful on Neds mostly along the dam. My biggest were a 15" largemouth and a 15" smallie. Prior to giving in to the dam bite, I chased fish up the creek arms and had six or seven short strikes from better fish and caught one short on a bbz1-shad; I could not get hits on follow-up baits.

Water clarity was about 18" on average with a heavy brown tint to it. Water clarity was a bit rougher in the back of turkey creek.

Water temp ~66

So I just got a Hobie i12s! Halloween weekend I'll be in Clinton, MO for a party. I'm going to crash there but I'd kick myself for not fishing Truman Lake at some point. Where are some good put in spots for a kayak? Truman is huge and I've never fished anything bigger than 100 acres. I may not just target largies, I got an ultralight and I know Truman is good for Crappie as well.

I am going stir crazy waiting to get it into the water. This weekend I'm going to Watkins Mill which has turned into my main lake.

Don't waste your time on Truman, fish the strip pits in Clinton instead. It's called Pogue or something like that. Was a lot of fun when I fished it.

Have a few rods I'd like to sell local if anyone is interested, all 3 St. Croix casting rods. All are local pickup price, not going to ship any unless the buyer is willing to pay shipping. Send me a PM with a # to text pictures.

LTB 7' 3" MH/F "Carolina Rig" model. It's one of the older full cork handle rods, telescoping. Ordered straight from St. Croix and has my name on it near the first guide. I've used it for both C-rigs and jigs/T rigs and it does it all well. Good shape with your normal wear and tear on the cork and a few light scratches and such in the finish, $150

Avid X 6' 6" MH/F Very light use. I used it mainly for smaller jigs and T rigs, which it did fine, just have too many rods that I use for those types of baits. Retails over $200, will sell for $120.

Premier 6' 6" M/F Got it in a trade and have not put a reel on it in since I got it well over a year ago. Rod is in great shape, but obviously I haven't needed it so would like to get to someone who can use it. Would make a good topwater or jerkbait rod, or rod for smaller spinnerbaits. Retails for $130, will sell for $75

Hey Kansas guys:

I have to travel to Wichita area due to a death in the family.

I am going to be there until Thursday - can anyone clue me in on some good bank spots to fish for bass while I am there?

Or even someone in the area that might want a fishing partner for a day?

I know this is short notice - but it never hurts to ask.

Tight Lines.

I would take you on a Monday or Tuesday if you were just a little further north.

@Bluebasser86 - Are the fish in your area in an active fall pattern yet?

Depends on the lake. The bigger reservoirs they're more spread out still. The smaller state and community lakes they're very much in the shallow ends and up the creeks.

For bank fishing, Wichita is probably one of the best areas in the Midwest. Look at Google maps. Nowhere that I know of has anywhere near the number of small lakes, especially on the west side of town (mostly neighborhood ponds). They're almost all stocked and many hold 5+lb lmb's. I can recommend several. Where will you be?

Thanks for the response.

I will be off of W Maywood St.  Near Wichita South Lake.  I definitely plan to bank fish that body of water.  Hopefully have a little fun while I'm there.  If you could make any other recommendations, that would be great too!

I plan on taking some squarebills...soft plastics...jigs...topwater...and chatterbait.  That sound like it will catch some fish in that area?

Fished Mound City in the wind yesterday hoping for a winding bait bite (chatterbait, swim bait) along weed flats. I ended up with a few in a swim jig and a few shorts on a spinnerbait, but the best bite seemed to be senkos or flukes in gaps in the weeds in coves/pockets.

The better fish for me were kinda scrawny? My big fish of the day was a 20" that I thought was a world beater when I saw it's head come out of the water, but it maybe went 4. I had a few in the 16"-18" that were similar.

That's how most of my bigger fish out there have been. That lake gets beat to death by weekend guys who jam cull tabs in the fish and haul them around all day for little jackpot tournaments or just to take pictures at the end of the day. Stresses the fish really bad when the water's in the 80s like it is all summer while they're doing that. Probably kill a bunch of big fish from it too. Didn't used to be like that out there but word gets around and some guys can't help but wreck a lake until they hear about something better.

Is that not what you do in the KC area with your Wednesday night tourneys?

Nope, they're like a MLF format that the fish are weighed and released immediately. If someone catches an over they can bring it in, but it's not required. We're not trying to kill a rare bigger fish over a couple dollars.

But how can you post your 5 fish limit on instagram if you don't jam all the fish in your livewell when you are fun fishing??? Kind of like throwing a 7 lber in the boat and taking it for a boat ride all day in case you catch some other big ones to take a photo with when you are just out fishing for fun.  Stupid.  Especially on most of the small lakes around here.

I used to love Mound City.  Last year a caught a 3 1/2 that had a hole in its mouth so big a 10" shad could swim through.  Last couple years it has been down it seems like.
