Good kayak lake if you only have a few hours and live in Lenexa.

Definitely a kayak lake...the one (and only time) I wasted launching out there...there were like 72,000 kayaks on that little lake! Lol

ok "hands up" it may not of been 30' but it was a hella big fish, and you'll just have to take my word, Bone Creek has a beast.

Last week i took a pretty good hit on my own stupidity out on the yak out at Cedar Creek.  Didn't have all the gear tied down and ended up loosing a ballistic ex on a pretty nice rod too and my keys/phone as i capsized. Well i guess I'm learning the yak the hard way.  But in the end some of the fisherman down there were having a local tourney that day and got me squared away.  Thanks a mill to them, a good bunch i appreciated it.

Then the other night i went back out to middle creek. My first time there i dragged a big hotty in off the point across the ramp.  But not this time, Blue-Balled.  Got a couple teasers at 1-2" using a shad swim-bait with a weighted hook so i could heave it into the grass and work it back.  Tried the frenchfry, chatter bait, and spinner - it was tough tough fishing.

Miola was pretty tough for us last night, but it seems that lake has been tough for me just about every time.  We caught more numbers up near the river on wobbler and beaver.  Had a couple nice frog fish, and a few good blowups, but nothing landed that was anywhere close to 18".  I did catch a good crappie on a beaver in about 2' of water, so there is that.  Seems the traffic is starting to die down now that school is back in session, which made the lake much more enjoyable than it was last week.

I think our last 2 stops of the season are going to put out. :glasses9:

Huh???? It's the easiest lake to fish I've ever been on. There's loads of brush piles to fish. All easy to locate. You don't have to spend a bunch of time learning the lake. You can see them sticking up. Go to the brush piles fish and have fun. I fish it 6-8 times a year. Catch several fish every time I'm there and have caught a lot of fish over 5lbs out of there. You don't have to be a fishing expert to find fish on paho.....

For some reason it didn't show the quote. This was a response to the gentleman who said paho wasn't easy to fish and wasn't a numbers lake.

Chris and I fished CV on Wednesday and did pretty decent. It started very slow, picked up a little, then got pretty fun right before we had to leave. During the dead time I started fishing a black and blue senko wacky rigged. Hooked a monster next to a stump that gave me some big headshakes and popped off. I'll pretend it was a drum, even though it probably wasn't. Started catching a few in the coves on wobblers as we worked south and the water muddied up. Then when we got into the river, Chris started pitching a black and blue beaver at any wood that was as close to the bank as possible and it paid off almost immediately.

We caught several doing that, and I caught a decent one on a Raymond Red wobbler, which has become a solid dirty water color for me.

Dad actually made the trip with me to Wolf Creek Thursday. WP 90 and a tube was pretty much all we used all day. I caught a few on Ivy, few on a Ned, but I pretty much fished a WP all day and my dad threw nothing but a tube except for about 10 minutes he fished a spinnerbait. Could have had over 100 pretty easy if all my WP fish were connecting but there were lots of fish slapping at it or never opening their mouths, just ramming the bait. Dad accidentally figured out the deal around 10 AM when he cast almost onto the bank, when we were already only in 3' of water, and caught a solid fish, no idea how we couldn't see it. A few cast later, I missed a big one and had a little one steal the plopper. The big one followed to the boat and was the biggest WC smallie I've ever seen, over 4 for sure. Dad followed that with his new PB smallie at 3 even. We caught several more off the same point before we moved on down the bank. Shallow water with deep water nearby was the key. Deep water had nothing but dinks, and shallow water only held fish here and there. My first fish of the day was a fat largemouth off the island, then I had back to back Ned rig drum, the rest were all smallmouth.

Friday I made a short kayak trip to Critzer. I've never given the lake much of a chance, but now that I'm less than 30 minutes away and guys at work keep telling me about 6-8 pound fish, I guess I'm going to have to give it more of a try. I did catch several very healthy looking fish while I was there. I launched from the west end, so I'm not sure if the trees are thinning out, or if they've just never been that thick on that end. Either way, the west end what much easier to work my way through and fish than what I remember the east end being like.

Was there an actual ramp on the west end now?

If you mean at Critzer, no, just a gravel landing area for small boats.

Had a great week at Table Rock. Didn't get to take the boat out to fish as much as I would like, but we caught enough fish off the dock to make up for it. The size was actually pretty impressive as well, most everything we caught off the dock was a quality fish. Tried dragging a football jig, shakyhead, and Ned around the resort the first day without any luck. Finally I started skipping Ned under the dock in the stalls and started to pick up some fish. Figured out pretty quickly after that the fish were suspended under the dock chasing baitfish. Ned vertical jigged in the stalls and off the end of the dock was the best presentation for us. I caught a number of quality spots that way, my dad caught 2 really nice LM, and my brother in law caught a skinny 18" smallmouth that way. Even got my son to catch a few on his own. Went to the KC bridge the second day, didn't get there until around 10 am but as we pulled up a school of spots started blowing up right next to the piling. I proceeded to catch spots steady for about 10 minutes on the 90 plopper which was a blast!!! Managed to catch some topwater fish around the dock in the mornings as well.

If the plan is to go to table rock for a trip in the spring I would highly recommend Lazy Lee's Resort for us to stay. This place was extremely nice!!!

How do you get on that lake? My sister and her husband live in the Stoney Creek neighborhood directly across Ward Road from it and it looks like a really nice lake.

My uncle lives on it and unless you live there you don't. He said you have to take the boat up to the marina and they tag it right there.

Just like Waukomis...but I know a guy, and a gal...that live there! Lol

They are pretty strict about it (use the zebra mussel scare as their reason for strictness...try to tell ya that the boat, motor, and even your fishin gear has to stay on that lake and only that lake).

Hey guys, planing on getting out to Longview lake in the morning. I've been trying hard to get something figured out on this lake with no luck. Seems to be a tough lake but I'm to hard headed to give up on it yet. I'll report back with tomorrow's outcome

Never fished it but from what I've heard and experienced, Jacomo is by far better. I hope you prove that wrong though!

They were suspended around deep docks last week..... and pretty thick at the bridge.

Longview was its typical self today, tough. Fished from 6 to 11 with 1 bite.  Been to this lake about 10 times in the past 2 months and I've yet to catch a 15" bass. I think I'm going to give up on the lake

Fished Prairie Lee from 8-noon today. Marked shad at about 12 feet and started fishing main lake channel swings and and brush in the 10-15' range. I caught 6 at 15" before 10am and an 18" that came off a power shot beaver on a ledge adjacent to a point. After 10 I went shallow to see if fish were moving in either the water willows or the stick ups. I did not find very many fish shallow and what I did find lacked size.

Water clarity was between one and two feet and the temperatures I found were consistently around 79.
