Bassyakker Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Last I talked to Spring Hill they still do not allow kayaks on the lake. Might check with them before you go out there. Quote

Bassyakker Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Took the kayak to Baldwin City pond this morning. Caught a bunch of little bass. Had a couple good bites on a frog kept missing them. They were killing a weightless senko. Quote

ljd1971 Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Since the wind forecasts i saw varied, I decided to play it safe and stay away from Wolf and instead got my brown bass fix at Jeffrey Energy Center. Took a buddy from work that doesn't fish much. The topwater bite was disappointing- i caught a few on a spook and he had a number roll on the tiny torpedo but not hook up. Got him set up with a green pumpkin red flake Ned and he started catching them. We probably ended up with 60 smallies and a handful of larries. Approximately half came off the dam and half were out along deeper weed clumps. Biggest was 2.5 lbs. Quote

Bassyakker Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Took the kayak to Richmond Lake this morning. It was a little slow but got a couple decent bass. The catfish were liking the bladed jig as well. 1 Quote

TobyTheTank Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Hey Guys! I am new to the site. I fish mostly during the week as i work most weekends i am from OP area. Fish a basic sit-on kayak, bass boat, or from the bank. Last week I hit pleasanton lake in the kayak early, there is a ton of weeds back in that main cove used a strike king frog and landed a few bass 1/2-2lbs, fished the west-end tall grassy area got some too. Threw a torpedo across the main lake and caught 2 channel cats about 18in they were oddly skinny. Left there around 11:30 bc it was so friggin hot, thought i was gone die. Then around 5pm i hit MC in the kayak went across from the boat ramp to the point and was throwing a large purple brushhog in the timber and all the way around in it, and landed a 21in LM fatty hog he was a beauty. Had some more in the timber but they were dinks. Mostly creature baits. I was the only one there till about 7pm and then like 3-4 boats came in they looked like catfish guys tho. Ended up leaving shortly after. Fished La Cygne a few times this month in the boat w my dad. That lake is fickle for us, sometimes we catch some Lunkers on the other side of the outlet along the riprap and sometimes we can't find them anywhere. I mainly use a french fry there bc i have most confidence w it. This morning went to the Kaw with my nephew to mess around from the bank didn't really know what to expect but ended up with a 23lb blue cat which was fun nevertheless. I have some pics if anyone wants to see it - kinda ugly looking. Tomorrow I'm taking the boat down to burlington to fish wolf creek, never been there. I am excited tho hopefully it will be a calm day. I got a whole list of places i wanna explore this summer so look forward to sharing with you guys. 3 Quote

Think the wind is supposed to die down for tomorrow. Tons of smallies and wiper out there and a fair amount of LMBs too. It is usually a numbers lake with good avg size fish. Exact opposite of LaCygne! Lol Quote
Cowboy Spencer Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Howdy Bluebasser86 - saw you fishing for crappie on Hillsdale near the bridge a few weeks back. That was me in the blue kayak. What are you fishing with on Hillsdale? I've been going with my go-tos from Texas: roadrunners, rattle traps, texas rig worms ... but any advice you could give me on Hillsdale would be appreciated. I haven't had much luck on the northeast horn of the lake. Quote

I went under the bridge and on up a little ways fishing for bass on Monday morning I believe? I did pretty good with a T rigged Menace and a spinnerbait. I was only out there a couple hours though. 2 Quote
