Hi guys,

Brand new to the forum. Lovin it so far.

Going out this weekend to Pomme De Terre for a family get together/fishing trip (for me). Was curious if anyone had suggestions on what they're biting on and/or how deep they're sitting right now. Any and all help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

A 5 pounder in the water is a 3.5 in the boat, just saying. Ask the BA.  I'm not saying it wasn't a 4 or 5 tho.  I'll never forget shauer saying "drum, no smallmouth that's my PB, a 5 pounder" weighed 3lb 5oz. lol

<5 boat flip! Exception: spinning gear and jerkbaits with light line.  I've seen more fish lost trying to net it than boat flipping, but we can argue that all day long.

I did that at the vern when you and I were there in March. I thought I had my PB smallie when I set the hook, turned out to be just another almost 4 pounder.

I'll agree to agree with your disagreement of his agreement.......

I boat flipped this with a 7' M spinning rod and 8 lb mono with a 78 pointer. I realized what I had just done after I picked the fish up, was easily 4 pounds. I don't do that anymore, luckily I didn't learn the hard way.

The usual. Clinton trips and a Clinton tournament on Sunday. I'm not saying DJ and I are gonna win, but we're probably gonna win.

I know, problem is I didn't weigh it because that was our paper tourney at melvern a few years ago. It was my fifth cast in a row catching a fish off that spot and I was in a hurry to get back to fishing. I'm pretty sure it would have been my PB smallie if I had weighed it.

Just want to take the kayak out. I guess I could take it to Olathe instead, or cedar lake.

I'd pick Gardner again given those options. Or go find one good fish at Cedar.
