If you want to throw a back seater out of the boat put it on 5 and don't tell them. The MG wireless I had was smaller than the Ipilot I have now but the MG had lots more power!!! 1 Quote

I wouldn't go there now if you want to catch fish. Pretty sure that A-rig on braid you found is Drew's. He lost it on a cast when we were fishin for wipers back in late fall! lol 1 Quote

aj88kc Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Caught 7, 3 more got off before I got them in and 3 more that I just plain out missed. I have no idea how I missed the one on the pitboss. The bait hit the bottom the line started taking off to the left  I swung and came up with noda. They all came on the L.H. square bill again today. The ones that got off was on a lucky craft flash minnow. Here is a couple of the ones I caught. All dinks but it was fun getting hit all day. They was in less than 2ft of water on rocks. Quote

Ondrejka Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 A few weeks ago I was contacted by the outdoor writer, Michael Pearce, for the Wichita Eagle newspaper who was wanting to do an article on Wolf Creek smallmouth/largemouth with me. After rescheduling once for wind restrictions, we were able to get out on Saturday. Literally could not have been a better day. First five minutes and Mike is hooked up on a big brown fish. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day, as we had a 5 fish bag of green and brown fish easily touching 18 lbs. We all consistently were catching fish (Mike Pearce is a close friend of Ned, so you can guess what he was throwing all day and loved it). DJ and I both had fish touching 4#, and he lost one at the boat that was probably pushing 5. And in true WC form, I probably had a 5 drum bag worth 35+ lbs, lol. We caught fish all the way up until 2pm when we left, still not a stitch of wind on the lake. The article will run in the Wichita Eagle next Sunday, print and online. I'll be sure to post the online article & photo gallery here. In the meantime, here are some my pics from the day. The good ones that Mike took will be included next week.   7 Quote

WheatStateBssn Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 What an incredible thread you guys have going here. I was hoping you all could help me out with something. I took my son down to the Classic over the weekend and had a blast! He met his hero (KVD) and I got to meet mine (Rick Clunn). I never win any kind of drawings but somehow got extremely lucky and won a certificate for a Mecury Fury 4 prop (had to fill out tax form to claim it!). I don't own a tournament boat so I don't have a need for it but I would like to sell it to get geared up for this season. These props are so new I can't find a retail price online and I have to claim it within 30 days. The certificate is transferable but if I don't sell it in 30 days I don't know which pitch to order. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Quote

Here's some info if you haven't seen it already. I'm going to guess a 25 or 26 would be your best bet. As for price? No idea. https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/news/mercury-expands-tournament-level-propeller-line-with-fury-4-at-the-geico-bassmaster-classic/ Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 9, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 9, 2016 This is a pretty sorry sampling of the incredible fishing we had at Wilson County State Lake this past week, but at least I did get a couple of the stout spots on camera. Â Quote

redbirdsfan44 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Fished Lacygne today from 7-3. water temps range from 72 by the water outlet to 55 further up the creeks. Believe it or not we caught one on a frog, yes a frog in March, that was just under 6. Caught a couple on spinner baits, caught a few flipping bluff walls, caught one good one(4lb2oz)Â on a megabass ito natural, and lost count of how many 2 pounders I caught on a shakey head. Our best 5 for the day were right at 19lbs 3 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 10, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 10, 2016 That's a great day on the water! La Cygne has been fishing good lately and I imagine those fish should be looking to go on the beds before long if some haven't already.  I put the kayak in the creek at Gardner after work today at noon and fished for about 45 minutes. Only took 2 rods and the baits they had tied on, a spinnerbait and a 1/4oz T rigged stick O. Caught 3 on the spinnerbait and missed a couple more (yes I had a trailer hook @gardnerjigman ), never had a tap on the stick O. Off the water and home to sleep for a few hours at 1. Shad were flipping pretty steady in the creek and the flat on the south end, it's about to bust loose. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 11, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 11, 2016 Today was not a good day. Still having steering issues left over from the Classic so the VLO isn't even an option. So Cass and I took the yak to Kill Creek to chase trout. Fishing was pretty slow, and when I was about to leave I tried to pick a bait off a stump just below the water. Cass wanted to see what I was doing and both of us on the side at the same time flipped us. I lost my cell phone, my Virb, and a lower end Shimano/St Croix spinning combo. Not to mention the water is still way to cold to be swimming in. Seems like if it wasn't for bad luck lately, I wouldn't have any luck. Probably still be back out in the yak tomorrow, going to climb right back on that horse. 1 Quote
