Would have much rather fished in today's weather than yesterday's.

I'm planning on hitting DoCo and Lone Star some this upcoming year. What's  the primary forage in these lakes? Do either of these lakes have shad?

Lone Star does, DOCO is gills and baby bass.

Planning on going again next Friday? My calender looks pretty open and the weather looks solid.

Provided the wind doesn't get too strong and the temps don't drop a bunch I'm sure I'll be going.

Lone Star is full of them. DoCo not so much.

It was pretty nice on the water. I only dealt with freezing guides for a few hours and busted a little ice out of the marina. After 2 it was super pleasant. Got my crappie on and they cooperated, but I still would have rather been at wolf.

Get some big head wobblers and put them to work on both of those lakes.  You can catch fish on almost any bait on those lakes.  Brian has plenty of LS videos that could help you narrow down bait choices.

La Cygne was extra La Cygney (Cygnie?) Friday. I did get to try out the new Strike King Tungsten 2-tap RES, which seems like a pretty nice bait.

I don't believe there was a tournament last year that I didn't catch a wobbler fish.

Going to be awfully cold Friday it looks like, with a brisk little wind to boot. I've gone in worse weather, but I'm not promising anything other than numb fingers and regret.

Sissy.... and lots of little birds I might add, from the reports I've heard for that area. Several coveys per spot has happened before out there for us.

I won't even drive that far to fish one day.

Anymore you pretty much have to drive that far to get a good bird hunt it seems like, or be lucky enough to have access private ground close to home....which I do not.

Wouldn't be a problem for a few days of hunting, too much for one day though. Trying to save up that Canada money.
