The BA and I skipped La Cgyne so he could give me a lesson on the bull shad.  That lesson cost me after seeing the insane blow ups that bait produced.

It was pretty amazing to see them unleash the beast on it. Melvern smallies are so mad all the time! Reminds me of the wife... with the small exception that smallies will still play when they are mad  :eyebrows:

Smallies are more fun than the wife gjm. The Elk is in my very near future and I am anxious to get going. I have four more days of work and I'm off for ten days!

Just keep thinking "fish off practice". lol. I've yet to even see cedar valley.  :cry4:

Right there with you buddy.  One of these days.  Hopefully sooner rather than later but it is hard to convince myself to explore a new lake when Melvern is so hot!

I just can't justify it, and it'll only keep getting better and better. Melvern will be a staple on my weekends until the end of October, at the least.

That's hilarious. Bass Resource won't even let me write "wired to fish" (the way it's supposed to be spelled), let alone post the link. Srsly BR?

Seriously. They're serial spammers and try to steer traffic away from the site. All the blocked words are blocked for a reason believe it or not.

I just thought that was the nature of the internet. They've got a pretty sweet and informative site, and some nice web design to boot. I doubt censoring what people can type will discourage them from visiting their site... it may actually have the opposite effect  :dazed-7:

It is the nature of the internet, which is usually why most sites suck. I see your point, and agree, they have some good stuff on their site, but I wouldn't expect to see a "competitor" site freely displayed on this one. Would kind of be like Garmin putting tom tom, hummingbird etc on their site.

Probably going night fishing tonight if anyone wants to join. Haven't decided where for sure yet.

100% agree, advertising competitors on BR would make no sense. I was just talking about censoring wired2*ish the same way other four letter words are censored. Preventing me from mentioning their website in a comment just seems like unnecessary censorship. Pretty sure it has no effect on the success of either websites, all things considered.

Yah, It's really a grey area. I can see it from where you are coming from, but I can also see it from their business perspective of simply censoring the name so it can't be typed as "protecting" their members. That way people can't troll to steal members, thus making paying advertisers loose potential "clicks" from this website.

To put it in perspective, planet fitness, golds gym, and community centers all try to "secret shop" and promote their services and such within our facility (A Non-Profit). Wish we could sensor censor them as well! Dirty rotten trolls! lol.

Doesn't even let you type * on a made up website.

Fished cedar valley this morning. Tough day overall. First hour and a half, tried top waters and spinnerbaits. Nothing. Then jigs and shakes head. Nothing. Then the "Ned". Caught six small bass, two decent sized drum and six or so perch of some type. Water temp 79. Met another guy there and had about the same results.

Next trip to Kansas I'm going to melvern!

Hey guys! Long time no talk...I've been very busy. Here's the deal me and my dad have been shoppin around for a boat. I need some advice and opinions on these two here, they both look really clean. I've just heard and read so many bad things about nitros, then again people will always find something to complain about. I'd just like to hear what you guys may have to say about these two, thanks! I feel like that's a steal on the nitro though. I don't think I'd pay that much for that triton, gonna work on him lol.

If I was spending that kind of money I would probably go with a Triton.  I don't have anything against Nitros, (I own an old one) but they don't hold the value like Triton, Stratus, Ranger.  I know less about boats then about 95% on this forum though, so I would wait until you get some seasoned advice.

Do yourself a favor and get at least an 18" boat with a 150

As soon as you get that you'll be wanting a 21'

Keep looking you should be able to find a nice boat for the amount your wanting to spend.

I payed 13.5k for my 06 186 Triton. Regardless of brand I'd rather get a boat that's a little bit older but bigger than a boat that's newer but smaller for the same coin.

18 foot isn't an option after storage with the trailer is all said and done I literally just don't have room for it. I need to stick with 17 to 17.5 I probably could have an 18 footer under the right conditions maybe..but I think I'd be fine with a 17', 17.5'
