I think I'm going to venture out to Melvern tomorrow with my dad. He's been itching for some brown fish (as have I). I'll make sure to post a super simple report.

Here's the full video from Gardner last Tuesday, not completely in order but they're all there.

Still working on the Adventures of Chris and Clayton go to Pleasanton from last Monday, but I do have one of the better clips uploaded.

Finally got all the clips uploaded an put together from our trip to Pleasanton last Monday. Going to use them as an example for all the guys on the boards the complain about it being SOOOO hard to fish when the wind gets up to 15mph  :laugh5:  We had whitecaps on Pleasanton West, which is like 30 acres. I don't think it was ever below 25mph except when we were protected in the coves at East Lake. There were a lot more fish caught at West but they were coming in the boat so fast that I kept forgetting to restart the camera  :dazed-7:

post-36945-0-52400600-1435621870_thumb.jWent to Leavenworth County lake today.  Was a good day on the lake.  Caught 20 + bass with several more than 15 inches.  Super Fluke was bait of the day.

Anyone know why my pics keep posting sideways?

Are you holding your phone vertically when you take your pictures? Mine does that when I hold it vertically. Most phones you can rotate the picture after you take it though.

It has to do with the forum uploader for some reason. All photos I upload have to be done via my computer. 1 because they're too big straight from my phone, and 2 because most need to be rotated after the upload, even if it's vertical on my phone. Kind of a pain sometimes.

Yah, I just use photobucket to upload all of mine. It automatically sizes everything and I can rotate if needed.

Can't even freaking focus at work!  So ready for VACATION! 10 DAYS AND COUNTING!  :respect-059:

Man I should have had 2 big ones at Gardner yesterday and I lost both of them. First one even gave me 2 chances. I did get a good video of her tossing my bait back at me though.

Caught 3 small ones on gardner this morning one on a Texas rigged fattyz and two on top water frog. I love frog fishing, so much fun.

Looking forward to seeing that video bluebasser. I was hoping I would catch on of those big ones today but no luck.

Here you go. I wish I could zoom in on the fish jumping in the first one and the boat wake the second one kicked up right before it hit my bait.

I fished Olathe Wednesday after I got off work. Caught quite a few fish but this was about the only one worth seeing.

I couldn't help but catch a few catfish before I left Gardner. There were ducks pulling food out of the feeder and catfish catching anything they missed. My sidescan was loaded when I floated by the feeder and predictably the fishing was pretty fast and easy.

Nice videos. that was a really nice bass out of olathe.

Gardner is on fire right now. Everything worked from deep water cranking to flipping the grass. A Pit Boss and a 3/8 oz EcoPro tungsten flipping weight did most of the work. I imagine the place has been beat to death by now.

That lake gets beat to death constantly even when it sucked, I'm sure it will get more attention now that it's trying to turn the corner. The exciting part.is it keeps producing despite the extra attention and the fish keep getting bigger.

Took my dad out to Mound City Lake on Friday.  It took us awhile but we found some good fish.  All of my fish were on a big-head wobbler, my dad caught his biggest on a pit boss.   It was a new PB for him at 5 Lbs. 11 Oz.   I finally caught a decent fish this year too!  One just shy of 4 1/2 smoked the big head wobbler as I ran it by some submerged trees.  Our biggest 5 went 19 lbs 5 oz.  I will try to get some pics on here.  Or, you all can check out my facebook.

See everyone on Thursday at Olathe!

Need some boatowners advice on this boat:

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/boa/5108101703.html

The motor is old 1969, but supposedly freshly tuned and runs well.  Was planning on seeing meeting the guy at a lake on Wednesday to check it out. Never owning a REAL boat before don't know what all to look for.  Just seems like a decent deal for a couple grand. the cranking battery is brand new, the other 2 or 2 years old.  comes with on board charger and cover.  Trailer has bearing buddies.  I asked as many questions as I knew to ask.  Anything specific I should look for?  Any comments on the fairness of the price?

What is it about taking dads to new lakes and them getting their PB on the first trip? I took my dad to Melvern for his first time last October and in the first half hour of the trip he caught a 4.5# Smallie. Of course he's obsessed with Melvern now and I have yet to break the 4 mark lol. Gotta love it though!

Micah,

Those year nitros were bad about getting stress cracks right behind the seats on the top cap. Don't think they really got it under control until 1994. My honest opinion is you can find a better boat for $3k, and that's what I would do. You will forever hate yourself if you buy a problem. Been there, done that.
