I look forward to seeing those I know on the water. I don't know you, but I appreciate your reports and have come across a number of them when I search back through the history of this thread. Nobody is requiring that every post include a detailed report with pictures. Hope you don't let a few comments keep you away. 1 Quote

FishingCole Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Went out to lonestar the other day and caught an okay amount between 3 people; about 30 fish. I noticed that everything we through the fish mainly hit right when the bait hit the water and not anytime from splash down to the boat. Does anyone have any recomendations? Im going back out again tomorrow morning. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 18, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 When the water is dirty, like I'm assuming it still is out there, bass will position themselves right on the bank and often facing towards the bank waiting for their next meal to get washed into the lake. It just makes your job a lot easier. Pitch in there, if they don't bite after the first couple hops, reel in and repeat. You can cover lots of water that way. 3 Quote

Ondrejka Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I meant on lure recomendations. Can't beat Texas rigged plastic at Lone Star during the summer. Jigs, and frogs as well. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 18, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2015 I meant on lure recomendations. Pit Boss or other beaver bait catches lots of fish and gets through the grass easy. Last time I was out there, a tube was getting more bites though. Quote
RangerDanger Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I meant on lure recomendations. I was out Sunday. Started with a sweet beaver, but they really liked a rage craw green with red flake texas rigged. I'd say something with some flap to it. The fish I caught were not in the weeds, they might have been following it out and the water was starting to clear up. Quote

Luckily I figured out they were off the weeds burning the bait back to the boat when I got bit. I did catch a few right up on the bank but the majority were between the boat and the weeds or on the edge of the docks. Quote

Jond6236 Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Dam I love lone Star. Caught a ton of fish. Landed a 4 pound bass but had 2 other big ones break off. All I used was a bio spawn vile craw in red, Texas rigged. In the morning they bit when it was right on the bank but as they day went on the moved to about 5 feet of water. 1 Quote

Bassyakker Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Decided to hit Lone Star instead this morning. They were hitting top water well but nothing of size. Biggest was maybe 12 inches. Quote
Chris S Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Fished Melvern Sunday for fathers day with the neighbor and his son. 20 or so fish total biggest was by the neighbors son on a Rodney 2.5 pounds Dangers and Docs spot ,wind was a beast and every cove had three boats in it, One honey hole (The Ninja) produced six fish all 1 to 1.5 pounds. Ned and Lipless produced all the fish. We hit the dam at around 2pm when the wind died to 10 mph but my trolling motor battery was one its last charge I caught a monster white (of course ) after that we headed back to the OP and the nice 80 degree weather! WT 76-78. Side note: I took my neighbor to BPS Saturday (he has/had $300 in gift cards), he bought two new Pfluger combos and ned rigs and a Rodney and Melvern even though the wind sucked produced a nice first trip for folks who do not bass fish! micahthorlawson Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Took my dad out to Gardner Sunday afternoon. Caught lots of small fish on Texas Rigs, Hard Heads, and spinnerbaits. Found a school of Shad and caught a wiper on a Lipless. Had a big fish on a spinnerbait that came off. Should be a good Thursday if the weather doesn't get nasty. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted June 22, 2015 Super User Posted June 22, 2015 I'm still getting used to seeing good and gardner in the same sentence.... All the reports lately have me optimistic. 2 Quote
