It's actually a 13-18 inch slot on Douglas, unless it changed recently. Either way, you catch 2 >15" there Thursday and you can go wait at the ramp to get paid. Remember, this is the lake that a 1.01 took big bass last year.

Well d**n haha.  Maybe I should have tied those fish up and grabbed them later on haha.  Only kidding!  Speaking of grabbing something.  If anyone at DoCo sees a black flip flop, let me know!  Mine blew off the boat Sunday and we couldn't find it haha :laugh5: .  It floats but there was so much debris on the lake, it was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Anybody know anything about the small lake just east of Lawrence next to I70?  I see boats on it occasionally, is it a public or private water?

Hey guys! New to the site, been a reader for about a couple weeks. Just wanted to say thanks for all the good info on here.... Fished a ton when i was a kid up thru my teenage years and got away from it for a while. Now in my late 20's I've been dying to get back into it, so I put together a tackle box, bought a rod n reel for me and the wife and plan on hitting Shawnee Mission Park Friday morning.

I am in the Mission area so its great to read about all the reports around JOCO area. I hunt down in Hillsdale and Perry quite a bit but never threw a line out there in either... For now I am restricted to the shore/banks, but I am going to start pricing some little John boats, hopefully talk the boss into an early Christmas present  :eyebrows:

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks again. Look forward to maybe contributing some info on here one day!

I see it all the time and drove by but it is a private lake that is fenced off. Looks good for fishing though.

Got the opportunity to fish a Green Lake in Wisconsin for a few hours yesterday afternoon with a couple of guys who have fished it for 20 years. One boat went after fish and I went after big fish. The guy I was with threw back 4 lb smallmouth like they they were dinks. When I hooked that first Lake Trout I thought I had the one I was looking for. The big smallies just were not biting with the weather change.

Douglas report?

5 pounds, 5 1 pounders. Tons of fish slamming spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, and buzzbaits though, so it wasn't all bad.

Douglas report?

And only a little over a pound separating first and last... so a consistent group of dinks!

My buddy has been family friends with the folks that own it for a long time. Apparently it's called Bismark Lake. We haven't fished it yet, but he said he's caught some good fish over the years. Walleye included!

It is a private lake.  Fished it several times when I lived in Larry.  BIG crappie, lots of nice bass.  Fun little lake to fish.

Hey guys

So I've got a little to report from SMP this weekend.

So in two good days of fishing we hauled in 4 cats, 10 or 11 bluegills, 1 largemouth and 1 good ole snappin turtle!

Friday morning we got out there about 6:45am, started with a texas rig, fished that for a few hours then went to a yellow/gold spinner... no bites. The future wife was with me and fishing a texas rig... she soon lost her patience and when went to just ole fashioned live worms and bobbers. That's when the bites started rollin in - well sorta haha! Caught a handfull of blue's... then grabbed some lunch came back and snagged 2 cats in the little pond on the SW corner.

Didn't get back out there until Monday morning. Again I started with the texas rig, then to spinners... then defeated I went back to live bait and worms (which she had been fishing all morning with some good bluegills to show for it)... Caught a few more blue's. Got lunch. Came back and same story; we both hauled in a good cat, and I snagged a baby Largemouth - about 1 pounder or a "dink" as you may call it haha, but it was fun never-the-less...

Now I do want to tell you of the GIANTS I saw flippin out of the water in the Northwest/Southwest corners of the main Lake. I can only assume they were Largemouths - but all morning and afternoon on Monday these guys were hitting the surface HARD. They had to be 10+pounds. They were just outside of my casting range as we were on the banks, but man if i had a boat I'd be over in the corner, so just a heads up...
