You da man!!! 2014?

Yours?

It's a 2013 and it isn't mine yet but probably going to look at it Friday. Provided my loan application is approved in time it might just follow me home.

What a beaut Clayton. If that isn't the best way to ring in the new year, I don't know what is. Fingers crossed, congrats!

Looks like Wolf Creek is in the cards on Friday. Fingers crossed they'll be generating. Waiting for the report to come out tomorrow. Either way, can't wait to get out. Upgrading the electronics next week, which will make the upcoming freezing forecast even worse.

Unless they're shut down for scheduled maintenance they're always generating. They usually shut down for about a month around February or March. And you can call the guard house for reports. 620-364-2475

Killed it at Wolf Creek today with Brian and Drew! Junk fishing at it's finest! All joking aside, they seemed to want anything BUT the ned. Probably over 20 largemouths between the three of us, a bunch of hard pulling wipers and some incidental white bass. Numerous jerkbait doubles and a wiper triple. Drew took big bass at 3.65. Most of our fish came on jigs and jerkbaits, with the exception of Drews magical red square bill :)

That's freaking awesome man!

To follow up Conor's post: today was for sure a fun one at Wolf Creek. Those turds definitely outfished me on the Largemouth game though.

60 degrees at the outlet, 35-39 main lake. Started at the outlet on the riprap side with no tugs. Made another pass on the soft side and had our first few fish of the day. Including my first jerkbait fish. He hit it once and I missed it, let it sit and turned to Conor and Drew, when all of the sudden he slammed it again, coming straight out of the water. That was so righteous. Made another few passes and decided to make a run across the lake to the riprap by the island. Regretted that idea within 5 minutes of fishing and the 37 degree water temp. Ran back to the outlet and fished there until we left. Like Conor said, they wanted everything (but the Ned). We all caught fish on jerkbaits, jigs, and cranks. And all of us caught really nice fish on all three. They were definitely up shallow as well. Most of our fish came in 2.5 feet, mud and grass. Only one fish off the riprap. Had a really fun time at the end when we came upon a huge school of wipers and whites. Multiple doubles and triples were had to end the day! Biggest of the day went 3.65# and that was Drew's fish. Also got lots of GoPro footage to boot.

Don't get your bikini bottom in a bundle Chris. Conor had his lifejacket on under his coat.

Looking at dabbling in the swim bait world. Don't want to get deep enough that I have to buy a whole new set up for it. So something that can be thrown on a 7' heavy rod.

Looking at the R2S 168s S Waver in bone

CL8 Clacker 5" in bone

Mini slammer in shad

Spro BBZ-1 6" either floater or slow sink in sexy lavender shad.

Thoughts on any or all?

Those good choices ya think? I know the mini slammer and a waver are good

One good swimbait that you have confidence in is better than 10 you won't throw.

So ya think pick 1-2 and just focus on those? If that's the case the S waver will be one for sure, thoughts on other?

A 68 with a rof12 and the S-waver should allow you to cover the water collum well.

I did not like the BBZ at all. I had the slow sink though and if I did it over again I'd get the floater. If you're going to get a Slammer though, I'd much prefer that over a floating BBZ.

I'd get a Slammer for sure, but I'd get the 7" instead of the mini. There's only 1/2oz difference but you get a much better swim and profile from the 7", and it's really not that big.

I would probably get the S waver, or you could get a Savage Gear Glide Swimmer. I have both and they both catch fish. The S waver can be fishing a little slower I think but the Savage Gear comes in more sizes and better colors.

Never fished the CL8, looks like a decent bait.

I would add a couple of the Savage Gear 6" Line Thrus to the your list, both in floating and slow sink. They're a great swimming little bait and way cheaper than a Hudd.

The Optimum Baby Line Thrus have caught me a ton of fish and are very affordable and durable for a soft bait.

I've got a bunch of Decoy Hydratails that are the soft bait that got me started. More than welcome to borrow one and see how you like fishing them.

Solid info. I got a, what I can only assume, is a line through in a big lot I bought. I'll snap a pic in a few.
