Btw, that handle is insane. It's soposed to be 15% lighter than cork and a conductor not an insulater

The rod weighs 4-5/8 OZ

Ounce and a half is a heck of a rating for a medium heavy!

It's no that stiff. I may end up using braid for better hook sets.

If I ever get rid of my other Christmas present (101* fever) I'll get it to my other rods to compare it to them.

I noticed the same on the weight range. You will have to let us know how it goes. Hope you feel better. My wife and son just got something.

This is an oddball rod, This new line of rods has 9 models and this isn't one of them?!?

They needed money to launch this series and collected money through a program called kickstarter. In this program if you donated $150 they would send you a rod once they were built. (Why can't I get into deals like that?)

Anyhow I got it from someone that got a couple through the program. If you look at the other rods this one has the same ratings as the Heavy action rods in the series but is labeled as a MH.

I'm all for Stockton for the Spring get together. I got a chance to fish it early last summer and I can vouch that its becoming a really good largemouth and smallmouth fishery. Heard from a MDC agent that at least one state record smallmouth is in there they found electro sampling, for whatever that's worth. Im a bigger fan of it just being 2 hours from KC.

LOZ a far second.

I got out to Olathe the day after Christmas to play with a couple of my new toys. Only had a hour before dark, so I think I was probably fishing too fast. 3rd cast with a new Duo Realis 100 jerkbait and I got one about the 4th jerk.

Got my hopes up for a minute, that was my last bite. I did find 5 crankbaits though to go with the 18 I found out there last time. Water was 40.7 degrees. Tried for the wipers for about 15 minutes. They were still there on the depthfinder, but still not biting. Only thing I got was this poor little crappie.

I bid for my next rotation at the end of January, kind of waiting on that to make planning easier.

Anyone wanting to do the weeknight deal again this year? It was fun last year but I know several guys were unable to do them for assorted reasons.

May need to have a meeting at Johnny's again to discuss it.  :eyebrows:

Nothing to really brag about, but man it felt to get out for a while. Decided on Lone Star instead of Clinton.

Right there with Clayton in breaking in new Christmas toys, including my new 6' 8" Mojo Bass. Wow, I've never owned such a perfect rod. Anyway, I tried just about everything for a deep Bass today, but no dice. 37 degree water temp. Slow rolling jigs, jerkbaits, cranks. Starting shallow, dragging off the drops. Nada. So I got desperate and ran over to the brushpiles in the beach cove. Set up between 3, all in 18-22' of water. Managed a few tugs, but nothing to get excited over. A white, a crappie, and two dinks (Lone Star Grand Slam?). I was just stoked to be out. Should have gone to Clinton though. A buddy of mine and his two friends left with 65 Crappie today.  :cry4:

At least you caught something! I don't know if you ever read the Midwest Finesse blog but Ned is always talking about catching tons of fish at Lone Star when the water is really cold on "an expansive mud flat". I'm guessing from reading about it several times that he's talking about the arm with all the docks in it. Sounds like it takes some hunting but once he finds them they're often very concentrated.

Yeah, it has to be that arm. I mean I know the lake like the back of my hand for the most part and the only "flat"-ish area would be towards the back of that arm. I had my Vendetta/Sahara rigged up with da Ned, but didn't throw it. I'll find em!

I would love to get in on some of these weeknighters as long as they aren't on Thursdays.  Thursday is my late night working and I can't take off early since I am the only one in the office.
