Mr_Scrogg Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 For those interested, RangerDanger is coming to town, will be by to look at gear I'm selling. He said he is willing to bring stuff back. And I'll knock shipping off the prices for you. $5 for reels, and $7 for rods. (FYI, I get a discount on shipping through work. I sent a Avid Casting to SC via UPS for $7, one to Stillwater for $4). Thanks Quote
cbass12 Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Man Ryan... The mouth and belly on that things screams 6# It was a short stocky fish. Of course we did weigh it on Clayton's scale, which he had problems with, so maybe it actually weighed more. Funny thing is he guessed the weight EXACTLY before we put it on the scale. 1 Quote

Hoping to get out more in 2015 and catch a bigger one. Thinking about you, Scrogg. Hope things turn around for you. 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 8, 2014 Global Moderator Posted December 8, 2014 How do you like the Batwingz as a trailer? I was thinking about giving pork a shot for the first time this winter/spring (noob i know) but I'm thinking the batwingz might be the best of both worlds and less of a pain. And I'd rather not take this to the fishing tackle thread One of my favorite trailers without a doubt. It's not pork but it does hold up very well and the fact that the claws float up is a big plus to me. If you decide to try them I use the 3.5" version for all my jigs, the littler size is just too narrow IMO. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 8, 2014 Global Moderator Posted December 8, 2014 Well kind of lost some of it's thunder after that monster he caught the following day but Curt and I tore them up at Wolf Creek on Friday. My homemade swinging football heads with a beaver bait probably caught the most fish but we caught them on a lot of different baits. Much better numbers of brown fish in the outlet than I've ever seen out there, and the ones we were getting were much fatter than normal. Several of them coughed up small shad so maybe the shad had a good spawn out there this year. The Pinnacle combo is continuing to impress me Greedy little fella had someone else's hook and tube still stuck in his mouth when he ate my bait. A rum, pa, pa, pum, Curt and his drum 1 Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted December 8, 2014 Super User Posted December 8, 2014 Good looking fish guys. How did that new suit hold up Curt? I like it. Once I figured out I could Velcro the cuffs tight the rain stopped coling in my sleeves. (Duh) I picked that suit because it has pants with removable suspenders instaid of bibs. One other thing I like is they have a pocket on the leg designed for a pair of pliars. On the down side the hood on the jacket is not removable :-/ 1 Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted December 8, 2014 Super User Posted December 8, 2014 Me and Peter made it to LaCygne Sunday. We made it to the outlet before first light. It was slow going for awhile before I got my FIRST EVER double. Once I figured out how to use my snagging spoon it was on!!! I bet I snagged close to 20? 12" shad! You'd be amazed how hard a snagged shad will pull! After that we followed the birds around and started hammering Whites and Wipers including several doubles including this one. Peter stuck this GREAT 6# LM I'm not great at remembering how many we caught but Petef figured 40-50 Whites/Wipers 3 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted December 8, 2014 Super User Posted December 8, 2014 When are we gonna get the story behind Lacygne Freakzilla??? What, that little thing? I'll post it up tonight And it looks like I also need to change my PB. 1 Quote
Doc-Drew Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Wanted to give a little update. I ain't been around much. You have seen me selling gear. Life is a jumbled jigsaw puzzle at the moment. Not sure where things are going, or who will be there when I find out. Guess you can say I'm preparing for the worse. Paying off debt. Selling everything. So, my boat will be last. Good thing is I'm dropping pounds like a mad man. 30 so far. One of stress's benefits I guess. I'll still be around, and probably will poke my head in once in a while till things sort their self out. Hang in there Scrogg. Like Curt said, 30 lbs is a lot to drop. Rapid weight loss and high stress can cause other problems, so please be careful. Just remember, you have a forum thread here with probably 20 members that are here to help you through this. 2 Quote

RangerDanger Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I met with Andy today and transported a rod and reel back to KC for Jon, since I was in Wichita anyway. He has one real nice rod left of the lot he posted. If you need a heavy I'd recommend you take a look. Quote
