conorsixtakc Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Fished Lone Star this Saturday with a couple friends, one of which caught his PB there a few days prior at 5 lbs 6 oz flipping a havoc fatty craw into the weeds. We came back and caught 30-40 dinks with only one worth weighing, but it was still fun. Also nice knowing there's at least one big girl in that lake. 3 Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted July 29, 2014 Super User Posted July 29, 2014 Good fish. Good to see a nice healthy one Quote

Skeeter9948 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Fished LaCygne this past weekend....that lake gets tough during the summer. I did catch one good one on the dam on the old faithful 10 inch worm. Also caught a FAT bluegill. At least it was a skunking haha Quote
pbrussell Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 La cygne wasn't very great to me either. 5 fish- 4 of em in the first 15 minutes on a chatterbait. One two hours later on a 3.5" craw. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted July 29, 2014 Super User Posted July 29, 2014 I fished Lacygne for a few hours Sunday morning. I caught a couple decent fish but not what I was looking for. I got a 18,1/4" and a 17,3/4" I have no idea what they weighed they weren't big enough for me to get the scales out. I also caught 3 Flathead including this one that went 8.8# All 3 cats had Louse Btw the first 2 pics are the same fish Quote
Ondrejka Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 New guy here and I blame my good pal and fishing buddy, conorsixtakc. I'm a dedicated Walleye guy by default coming from Wisconsin, but enjoy nothing more than tussling with Bronzebacks, and now Largemouth. I fish Clinton almost everyday living in Lawrence, always targeting Walleye & Wiper, but have caught both really nice Largies and Smallies. Last year and early this season I had some super good trips to Coffee County and Melvern. Love those Brownies. On Friday Clinton was a little too rough for me to want to deal with, so I took a buddy from TX out to Lone Star on a whim to see if I could get him on some fish. Took me a little to get used to finesse fishing again, but it didn't take long before I was having a blast. My personal best came right as the sun went down. Man that was fun. Here's a little GoPro vid I put together from that evening. Yes, I did get a little excited once I saw that toad jump, my apologies haha. Took the same buddy and conorsixtakc the following morning. Lots of dinks and the bite died by 11. Still a super fun little lake to get away to out here in Lawrence. Can't wait to try Perry soon. Lone Star PB: 5 lbs. 6 oz. - Texas rigged Havoc craw Included a few photos from Clinton this season (for street cred purposes) Squarebill on the dam - GoPro vid Jig and minnow during the Crappie spawn. Caught 2 Largemouth and 5 Smallies in the same week, all while Crappie fishing. 3 Quote
conorsixtakc Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 New guy here and I blame my good pal and fishing buddy, conorsixtakc. Yes! Welcome Brian! Couldn't be happier to see my good buddy and future Clinton walleye guide posting on BR. You'll learn a lot from this super nice group of guys just like I have, as you slowly drift to the dark side plus now we really have no excuse to not get in on the Fall get together at Perry 2 Quote

bas Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Regarding your Bass tournaments, whey do you rely on catch, measure and release to avert regulations stipulated in Kansas FisingRegulations Summary-2014, pg5, requiring tournament pemits and required equipment all bass tournaments. I don't know if you need to do all those things, but if it were me i'd check it out. Quote

MXHalofan Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Caught one bluegill on a small swimbait on Prairie Lee. LOL Seen a ton of chad and bass mercing on topwater all night. Still fun tho. Nice lake. Gonna have to figure out how to manage that steep boat ramp. Someone might be writing a funny story about what they saw at the boat ramp tonight LOL Quote
Enphrared Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Heading out to James A. Reed tonight. Has anyone been out there lately? What's working? Quote
KC Jedi Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Fished Table Rock this past weekend. Caught numbers in the 30s. All spots. Near Baxter. Drop shot in 45 foot of water. Fish suspended in trees at 25'. Tough fishing, but we got on 'em, and stayed on 'em. 3 Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted July 30, 2014 Super User Posted July 30, 2014 Hit celebration park before picking girls up. T-Rig in weeds. That place smells terrible this time of year. Caught a dozen or so. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 31, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 31, 2014 For those of you wanting to do the weekly deal, we may possibly have to change the location of the very first one due to a possible change in the size limits on Douglas SL. KDWPT's website now has Douglas listed at 2 bass over 18". I've fished out there several times and caught 2 over 18" in all those trips. If we wanted to do it by length it could still work but if we're wanting to weigh fish it would make it tough. I'm planning on going out there sometime after work this week to check the signs by the ramp to see if I can confirm what the limits are, the states website has quite a few errors and it's always been a slot lake as long as I can remember. If anyone knows for sure let me know otherwise I'll be headed out there to confirm what it is. I checked Douglas last night, it's a 5 fish per person bag 13"-18" slot limit, so we'll be sticking with Douglas for the 7th. Fished for about 30 minutes and caught 2 that would have been short keepers. Water was nice and clear and 81 degrees. Looks like lots of vegetation along the banks right now that might produce a good frog bite Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted July 31, 2014 Super User Posted July 31, 2014 Ugh! I have to miss the first one! Rehearsal dinner for sister in laws wedding. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted July 31, 2014 Super User Posted July 31, 2014 Hitting gardner lake in about 4 hours. Any suggestions? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 31, 2014 Global Moderator Posted July 31, 2014 Well late notice but my back seat just came open for tonight. Haven't decided 100% where I'm going yet but I'll be leaving around 10pm and have to be home by 7:30 AM if anyone is interested. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 1, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Fished Jacomo last night from about 11-6. Bite was a little slow but caught some decent ones at least. Black and blue bladed jig and a 10" worm on a swinging football head was best and I got one on a slammer for good measure. First picture was 4.29, biggest one of the night. 1 Quote
Enphrared Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Hey blue, you go out there yourself? I wanted to throw my name in the hat to fill that spot, but had some family stuff going on. nice catch there! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 2, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 2, 2014 Yeah, fished by myself. It was pretty slow but the quality kept me interested. Quote
