Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 12, 2014 Super User Posted January 12, 2014 You know Paola's my Hillsdale Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 12, 2014 Global Moderator Posted January 12, 2014 You know Paola's my Hillsdale We probably caught 25-30 bass up to 3lbs, a 5 pound catfish, and a keeper saugeye out there the one time I fished it last year. All we did was flip pit bosses at the docks and water willow for the most part. Quote
sizzlefry Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hey Blue, if it's not to Much trouble next time I'd take 1/2 dozen Walleye... you have a nice boat now get your own. lol Quote
bkohlman Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Guys, I just got my first boat. An 8 footer with a 30lb thrust. Where in my area (Augusta) should I take it on the first voyage come springtime? Also fits perfectly in the back of my truck. Quote
Chris S Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 im in for a trout turny at shawnee you sure about that? Quote
conorsixtakc Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Before we left we went to try for some more of the crappie that I'd caught from the bank. I caught 6, 5 keepers from 13-14 inches that all came home with me so Cbass could have a fresh crappie dinner. Quote
retro basser Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Well I tried to hibernate and forget about the lake as best I could but the warm weather got me. I decided on this for my 2014 Retro Upgrade.... no more hassling with battery chargers or paying 'the man' for electricity! http://www.altestore.com/store/Packaged-Systems/Off-Grid-Cabin-Systems-Solar-Packages/altE-50W-Module-with-Sunguard-45A-PWM-Charge-Controller-Kit/p11161/ I really wanted a wind turbine that puts out 20 Amps / hour in 20mph wind, but you know how back seat boaters always complain about boat position and getting decapitated... I'd try to make the trout tourney. No idea how to catch them but i've been meaning to learn for awhile now. 1 Quote
pbrussell Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Check out the new mondo tackle showroom store in lenexa. (see their facebook for the address.) A whole lot of product there that no one else carries locally, and great prices ($6.88 for rc stix anyone?) Quote
Jeremy Coalter Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm still new to the lakes around KC, does anyone have any suggestions on where to launch at LOZ for bass/crappie. I'm coming from lees summit and looking for the closest ramp that should be a productive area to fish. Also looking for any other suggestions on the best lakes to fish within 1.5 hours-2 hours from lees summit. Thanks Quote

Thanks You can catch both pretty much anywhere on the lake, the closest ramp is probably going to be Drake Harbor though. Never tried crappie fishing the river but we did well for bass there last fall. Lots of good lakes within that distance of you. What kind of fishing techniques do you prefer? I'd certainly try Mozingo up by Marysville, Pomme De Terre, and Stockton. Quote

Thanks We've got a dock on the KC side of 7mm so launching has never been an issue, but if you're coming from Lees Summit and looking for bass and crappie I'd say head to the Gravois Arm. It should be the shortest drive and give you the best of both while the water's cold. If the water's more clear than you want you can always move up the lake from there. Good luck! Quote

inunishi Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 My two were bass. One large 3 pound and one small 1 pound. My nephew caught a catfish 3.5 pounds. Caught bass on lip less and catfish was on a dead shad flowing on top of the water. Quote

(like I need anything) Emailed Raymond yesterday and asked him if he could get a powell diesel spinning rod and if he would price match the sale that TW has on them right now. Said he would order it on monday and match their price. Great price on a pretty good rod. Quote

It really calmed down and I'm kicking myself now. I've caught some nice ones over the last couple of months all on sqare bills and spinnerbaits. God Bless warm weather and getting out of the house... Sounds like you've been doing better than anyone else down there. I heard it was mostly frozen as recently as last week because of lack of generation and everyone I've talked to that has fished it anytime in the last month was struggling for 1 or 2 bites a day Hopefully they will pick up generation soon if they haven't already. conorsixtakc Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Has anybody heard about what Garmin's been up to? Apparently they just signed a couple new guys to their pro staff, Brent Chapman and some guy I've never heard of, Bill Dance. http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140120-903003.html Quote
