Seconded. Or Atwoods brand at academy.

A buddy of mine from Girard got 10th in a time slot. That's about it.

This year was the most insane I have seen. 2,600 entries... I loved it.

Anyone win any money at the Bass Bash? Closest we got was a 2.87 fish.

We had a 2, 2.5 and a 2.94... Some tough fishing!

Anyone fish Smithville? I've found some great flats, drop-offs, etc, but keep getting skunked.

And the weights were nothing like they were in recent years past. Didn't even break 7# this year and last year there were multiple.

Yeah, I hated to miss it.

Man... how many years has it been since a 7 wasn't needed to win? Last 5 years or so I think.

What parts of the lake are you fishing?

I'll be out there next Thursday and Saturday.  Will let you know how it goes.

Kind of just flip flopping around. Usually put in a Crow's Creek. I've been north of that bridge around that island, and spend a lot of time south east down by the dam... I can't catch a bass in that lake. I told myself I was going to size down and throw a Carolina / TX rig until I caught some bass... but still nothing worth a d**n.

A few weeks back a fish over 8lbs was brought in. I had 7.4lbs in the pool for top fish in our group. Felt like I was fishing Table Rock late winter the whole time.

I'm sure that did not suck.

Hi everyone,

I'm from SE Kansas and just found this site.  Looks cool with a lot of info.  I'm heading to Wolf Creek for smallies tomorrow with my brother.  I haven't fished it much (a few times a couple of years ago) but we did manage to catch a few small ones on the rocks.  Can anyone tell me what the bite is like?  Thanks.

Won our company fishoff there a few weekends back that qualified us for corporate challenge there 5/6. Wasn't very tough but I give him all the credit for putting us on em. Nothing over 4 that day though.

One of our buddies had a 100 fish day there yesterday. Several good smallies and largies and wipers. Definitely lots of fish to be caught in that lake.

6.16 - Not a bad way to start our three day tournament weekend. B) Had around 17-18 lbs. today with @Thefrog22 at Lake XXX.

Full report to come.

Fished Wolf Creek yesterday from about 7:00 - noon.  Caught about 25 whites in the hot water then went for smallies.  Put 24 of them in the boat with the largest a little over 20".  Also had 3 huge crappie, 2 cats and a wiper.  All fish except the whites came on tubes that I made.

I am wanting to fish Wolf tomorrow.  Wind is supposed to be 18 with gust up to 24. I know they call you off at 20, is it a constant 20 or will they call you off for gust over 20?

Don't even bother unless you like bank fishing.

Don't even bother, it will be a complete waste of time. Not even supposed to build up where you might get a few hours in the morning. Going to be windy all night. I'd be shocked if you even got let on the water.

Thank you, it is a 2 hour drive for me.

It's only 45 for me and I still wouldn't even bother. I have the day off and probably going to use it to get some bait orders done instead of fishing like I want to. All the rain and cold probably make it really tough everywhere.

Hey, how are you guys setting up your tow rigs for fishing this region? Anyone using brush guards etc for deer strikes?

Lived in Kansas all my 31 years and have yet to hit anything bigger than a raccoon. I'd love to have some rock tamer though.

Unless you're going with plate steel bumpers a deer is going to mess you up regardless. Watch the ditch for eyes and you'll be all right.
