I think my weekend of fishing would have been more productive if all the lakes weren't so low, really could use some rain around here to stir the water up a little......:annoyed1:

Can't get the second video to embed for some reason. I was at Lake Shawnee searching for a big smallmouth. Water was so high I had to wade to the dock, and it was really muddy over a majority of the lake, and we all know how smallies love mud!

Me and my buddy wanted to try for walleye on clinton, any recommendations or tip are much appreciated.

From Sunday morning's trip, probably caught 20 and had 5 keepers in a few hours. Will be a bit before big fish show themselves consistently. Eaters like these are always great. Give me a call if you want to get out, running an evening special right now.

Hey Guys -

I haven't been fishing as much as I use to and I'm starting to thin out some rods and tackle.  Got a few rods I'd like to try and sell local, so I don't have to ship. Let me know if you are interested.  All rods are in great shape!

Daiwa Zillion TDZL 701 MHFB 7' MH - $140
Dobyns 805CBRM - $140
G Loomis Mossyback BCR 874 - $175

I'm in Olathe...

Has anyone ever fished the Spring river/Shoal creek area between Baxter Springs and Galena? I've heard of guys putting bass boats on it, and it looks awesome on satellite. Wondering how navigable it is and what to expect fishing wise.

We have put in right by riverton. Fishing can be really good. With all this rain it will be dirty dirty and have lots of floating logs and such. Also, there are a lot of concrete chunks with rebar in several areas from people dumping and making noodling spots. Idle wisely.

Nice! I was thinking about going down there a little later after the water lowers a bit since its unfamiliar terrain haha.

Micah and I are headed to Melvern early Saturday morning. Anyone heard any reports on if the water is less muddy now that the rain has slowed down? Or will we be the ones reporting?

It's still 6+ feet high and I'm sure it's muddy. I wouldn't go unless I absolutely had to. That's the toughest lake I know of when the water is up.

Took the wife out to Perry this evening. 13+ feet high and MUDDY. The gates are wide open though so the level should start falling. Slough Creek was the only open boat ramp we could find. Didn't even bother to wet a line.

I'd say turn South on 75 and wear your life jacket.  They were showing the Melvern lake level to 7.31 feet high with low discharge yesterday.
