So was it Mexican food or BBQ? Care to share where? We like to eat at Sunrise Cantina off 5, so hopefully not there!

I've had some really good BBQ by the lakes. I look forward to BBQ Nachos at the place by Table Rock almost as much as I do the fishing. Smoking Okies by Grand is awesome too. Can't remember the name of the place but there's one off 65 by the Osage that has some really good BBQ too.

I'm with you all the way on the Chinese though.

You obviously haven't tried The Fillin' Station in Lampe.....the place Clayton is talking about with the BBQ nachos. Honestly the nachos was one of the best BBQ dishes I've ever had, and the other stuff is very good as well. We used to stay at Mill Creek Resort and this place was just a couple miles up the road. You wouldn't think that a little hole in the wall place could have great que.

Those are always the best ones.

It was Mexican. On the North side of the lake. Its called Veracruz. Thankfully I was the only one that got the chicken so my girls avoided it.

There is some seriously good BBQ at LOZ. To be completely honest, there are only a few BBQ joints in KC that I actually like. Most of them are dry meat slathered in bbq.

Ok, so did you like the place in Tulsa?  Not saying there aren't good places, but you run the risk getting some boiled meat.

I bet that wasn't chicken!

OK. Just trying to gauge what you consider good BBQ.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I like KC and Memphis style better than Texas style.

Got out to La Cygne after the rain ran through with my 16 daughter.  Was a little slow till figured it out.  She hooked into a nice one up the creek on a spinnerbait then we moved out to the wall caught 6 nice ones before we stopped around 7 pm.  Caught on a speedcraw on the wall.  Good to get out went to Melvern on Friday and got my rear end kicked so a little redemption was nice.  Everyone enjoy your easter!

We were at Melvern Friday as well and it was pretty awful. That water got so muddy for some reason and everyone knows how much smallmouth love muddy water :annoyed1: We might have caught 2 dozen fish all day out there if you count our white bass and drum double (the only double of the day).

I did get out to Lone Star for a couple hours Thursday. Was hoping it would be longer but man I was slammed with orders this week and Mondo was completely out of 4 different colors, so had to take care of business before I could go fishing :sad1:

Water temp was all the way down to 50-51 depending on where I was at, although I didn't get very far because I only had 2 hours. Probably caught 15 on a jerkbait and wobbler, Sam got one on a dropshot too. Water clarity was good and the weeds are already 2' tall according to the Garmins.

Fished Melvern on Friday as well with Dwight.  It wasn't great, but we got on a few spots with some concentrations of fish.  Biggest of the day went just over 3lbs on a strike king jerkbait.  Had two others between 2 and 3 lbs as well.

Went to Melvern Friday with the kids. Right out of the gate, my son started catching them on the Ned. He had 5 smallmouth in the boat before I had caught my first. I grabbed my Ned rod, but still no fish. I changed to his color  (PB&J) but I still couldn't get bit. Then I watched him retrieve it a few times and realized that he was working it pretty fast and was really shaking it. Once I made that adjustment, I started catching them, too. Color didn't matter after all. Then the wind kicked up and blew us off our two best spots. It took me awhile but I fished new water and found some new spots that are better protected from the south wind. Not a great day but we managed 20 smallmouth, 15 whites and a few small green ones. My son caught as many as me, and he took a 2 hour nap in the middle of the trip! He also edged me out for big bass of the day with one going 2 lbs. 9 oz. The smallmouth were mostly caught shallow (3 FOW or less) on secondary points. When we found them we would catch more than one.

Took a solo trip to Melvern Saturday. Surface temp. ranged from 48 to 51. The weather sucked but the fishing was a little better than Friday. I caught 19 smallmouth including my personal best 4 lb., 5 oz. and two that were just under 3. I also caught a pretty nice 1.5 lb. spotted bass and a few smaller largemouths. All but 2 came on the Ned. The others were on a shad rap. Shallow water off secondary points was still my primary pattern but I caught a few in deeper water off of the shelf rock at the marina campground when I just had to get out of the wind for awhile. I talked with a fellow wind refugee who was doing pretty good on a crankbait. He said he had caught a couple over 18".

At around 2 p.m. the wind went dead calm for about an hour as it was shifting to the north and I was able to fish the primary points in Eisenhower where I caught a few 14 inchers.

If this "Ned only" bite continues for me I just may sell off all my casting outfits and any tackle not manufactured by Z-Man. Check that-- I'll keep one casting outfit to fish C&C Custom and Buzz'z Baitz.

Went to Lone Star Friday from about 9-2. Spent the first 2+ hours in the homes arm with nothing to show for it. Caught the first fish on a rocker head and pit boss off the rocks right next to the ramp. Fished my way toward the beach arm with a few more short fish on the rocker head. Picked up a bone jerkbait and had a dink fest on the windy side of the arm. Finished with around 15 fish, biggest only about 2 pounds. Smallest was hardly longer than the RC Stick I was throwing. I did watch a guy catch a smallie on a jerkbait right in front of me. Kinda jealous <_<.

Went up to Iowa to visit family for Easter and had just about the same result. Bone jerkbait with a lot of 12-15 inch fish. I'm ready to catch a big fatty soon. Aiming for the BBB!

True that. It's gonna be a fun weekend regardless. We should all grab some of that LOZ BBQ that was referenced on the thread one night.

I'm sure it can be arranged. We will be down there Thursday morning thru Sunday. Will both have the ladies with us, but no kids. Blue and I will be fishing to save our butt from the damage our wife's will be doing at the outlet mall.

Just don't tell em what the top prize is worth or you might not have enough room in the truck on the way home for all the clothes.
