Ondrejka Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Calling Garnett today to talk about rooms. Who all wants a room Saturday night? Text me the rates when you get them and I'll make the call. I'd already kind of just thought to drive home and then drive back out in the morning...but if the price is right I'd stay and partay. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 9, 2015 Super User Posted October 9, 2015 At most it will be $60 per room. That is their advertised rates. The owner is supposed to call me back today to give me the "special rate". 1 Quote

Bassboy98 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Hey guys I have a tournament at Milford this weekend. Has anyone fished there lately and how was it? Quote
Ondrejka Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Getting close boys!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't it just figure that I finally caught the boat problem bug? Took a dump on me at Melvern yesterday during a trip. Thinking its a fuel pump deal and fingers crossed will have it back by this weekend. Otherwise we'll be using DJs boat. Just my luck though. Been solid all season until the week of the big tournament lol. Should be fine though! Quote

I was going to go over and check on you when I finished fishing the point I was on, but when I idled out, it looked like you were back fishing and I didn't want to roll up on you. Sorry I didn't follow up; I would have given you a tow. Quote

Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 13, 2015 Super User Posted October 13, 2015 Hahaaaaa! When y'all start crying for Melv on day two you would understand! But nope, we fishin. We ain't skurd Quote
ljd1971 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 How did Melvern treat everyone this weekend? Other than white bass and drum, I struggled. Having said that, I hooked what may have been my pb smallmouth at noon yesterday on a squarebill. I cast over my son's line and had to wait for him to reel in. As the squarebill floated there, she hit and the fight was on. I finally got her to the boat and realized I forgot my net. She broke off right at the boat as I reached to lip her. I hadn't retied in awhile and the zebra mussels and/or rocks had probably nicked the line. Lesson learned. Quote

I've learned it multiple times, and they still get me sometimes. Quote

I was really planning on a day 2 at Melvern. I was pretty surprised when I wasn't the only person with my hand in the air. Didn't even think my partner was going to vote for CV both days I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. I don't think I could ever get tired of catching smallmouth. 1 Quote
Ondrejka Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 People have been asking me why I've fished the same lake for the last 8 weeks, and that's the exact answer I've given them. Melv is a gem and I just don't get tired of catching smallies. Add to that the fact that I'd really like to see a 4#+ before the year is out. 1 Quote

Just to show how prepared we were for a day 2 at melvern, we had made a TW order just before the meeting that was pretty much nothing but Melvern stuff. lol I'm ready for cedar. Gonna be a blast. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 13, 2015 Global Moderator Posted October 13, 2015 you'll still throw a spook or frog. Couple spots with lots of pads at Melvern. I tried hard to get a smallie to hit a frog in them but no luck. Quote
