Went to Melvern this morning and did pretty well. Biggest smallie was 3 lb and 19 inches long. Caught everything on Ned.

adam and I went started the day off on fortscott going across the dam and down the west side and it was consistantly slow so we went to bourbon county cedar creek and adam has a nice ranger aluminum boat but it was even thick for it but did really good when we could make it to the shady bank and flip finess jigs in 6 or less feet of water. almost every cast. we ended up having to back off the bank and filipping thoses trees and it wasnt working so i was throwing a spinner bait and hitting schools of bait fish causing them to flip and about every three of four schools of those i would get one just no big ones. so we fished our way home stopping at big P and i was just so hot catching a few here and there fliping the weeds and we both lost good ones through out the day but for 1000 degrees out side it was what i was expecting.

No posts are as entertaining as Tinberg's posts. It's even worse when you re-read it several times in any of the goofy voices he uses while in the boat. lol.

The blue boat was built for cedar creek. The BA forgot to report about the local throwing the green wiggle wart at cedar creek.

Proving size of bait doesn't equal size of fish.

The one I caught on my 8.0 at Cedar Valley Thursday was barely bigger than the crank and he knocked the fire out of it! I thought I missed the fish until he started skipping across the top.

So after all the talk of Cedar Valley for the fish off, and seeing Jared's 7#, Keith and I decided to make the trip last Saturday. Such a cool lake. Launched at 5:45am and there was only one other boat that had launched right before us. Started fishing a steep rock bank, and within the first 30 minutes I got bit on a football jig in about 17 feet of water. It was a good fish, took me straight into a tree and broke me off. Shortly after that, coming around the point, Keith tied into the first fish. Most of you have probably seen the GoPro video on Facebook, but it was awesome. Once we saw the fish after it jumped, we both gave each other the :eyebrows: look. First fish in the boat was over 4lbs. Talk about setting the bar high.

Another fish that came deep.

The rest of the morning remained fairly slow, but it really got going around 10:30-11. We were catching numbers on shallow grass lines. Jigs and a Spicy Shad Wobbler were the winners.

After we'd beat up the grass for a while, we made another pass at the point where Keith caught the first 4#. Long story short, he pulled TWO more fish over 4# on TWO passes in the exact same spot. Probably 15-18 FOW on a football jig.

Best 5 fish on the day went 18.25 lbs. Just barely missed our 20# goal. It was an awesome trip and cool lake, and can't wait to get back. The river end was blocked off due to some speedboat races, so we didn't even get to fish up that way. Aside of that, we only saw a total of two boats all day between 6-2. Our votes are in for the fish off, for sure.

On another note, I caught my first respectable Smallie at Lone Star last night. Second cast of the evening on my new H20 jig rod (after I'd broken my All Star at Cedar Valley). I've only caught one little 6 incher on the Ned a few weeks ago, and have been waiting forever for one. Other than that fish, it was slow. Like, painstakingly slow. Water temps were 88-91. I was definitely not fishing deep enough. Nice fish though!

Keith posted it straight to FB from his GoPro, so it's not on the YouTubez. If I send you a FB link can you watch it from wifey's account?

Hey everyone, I'm a noob to the forum and pretty much a noob to bass fishing. But needless to say it's quickly become an obsession. Went out to Longview Lake last night after work. Never considered Longview as much of a fishery but it's close to my boat storage so figured I'd kill some time. Ended up yanking these in on a 10" purple worm texas rigged. Had several more but only took a picture of these.

I upload to photobucket and then paste a direct link here.  I think there is a size limit on here that blocks most photos that you try to upload unless you resize them first.
